Rusty Conner Obituary
NEW BERN, NC -- Reverend Russell W. Conner, 65, lifelong resident of New Bern, died Thursday February 3, 2011. Russ retired from Weyerhaeuser several years ago and was most recently as the Minister at Maysville United Methodist Church. He was on the Board of Directors at Phoenix House which he helped to establish in New Bern many years ago. He was being treated for cancer at Duke University Hospital until he was moved to New Bern on Tuesday. Russ is survived by his son, Michael Conner and wife Stephanie, of Morehead City; brother, C. David Conner and wife Donna of Sterling, VA; and his sister, Faye C. Lindsay and husband Bill, of Raleigh.
The family will receive friends 5-7 PM, Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Pollock~Best Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 2:00PM Sunday, February 6, 2011 at Riverdale UMC with Rev. Mike Eubanks officiating. Burial will follow at the Conner Family Cemetery in Riverdale.
