Ruth Ballas Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 4, 2021.

On Wednesday November 3rd, 2021, Ruth Doiron Ballas, loving wife, mother of three, and
grandmother of seven passed away at age 64.
Ruth was born January 16th, 1957 to Alveta Doiron in Brooklyn NY. After a childhood in
Sanford, ME, Ruth moved to the AZ desert in the early 1970s. In 1978 Ruth married James
Ballas of Phoenix AZ. They raised three children, Marion, Douglas, and Kenneth.
Ruth was an avid outdoors woman and cherished her time exploring the Arizona wilderness
with her family and friends. When not birdwatching, rock collecting, and camping, Ruth could
be found welcoming family and friends alike to a warm repast. Ruth was known among her
friends for her warmth, loyalty, and hospitality.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband James. She is survived by her children Marion
(Gregory), Douglas (Katherine), and Kenneth (Danielle), her grandchildren (Joseph, Tyler,
Annie Marie, George, Theadora, Rose, and August), her siblings Pamela (Dennis), Joseph
(Deborah), Blair, and Dennis (Anne), and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be
celebrated in May 2022. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Kino Border Initiative,
https://www.kinoborderinitiative.org/give/ or PO Box 159, Nogales, AZ 85628-0159.
