Ruth Bearden Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 25, 2019.
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Ruth "Susie" Marie Bearden on March 19th 2019. She was 81.

A loving and devoted mother and always 'the founder of the feast' we call Thanksgiving Dinner. A time for her family and friends to gather, eat, drink, and be merry as they reflect on the year that had past.

Born in May 1937 in Albert Lea MN. The youngest of 9 brothers and sisters. She later moved to Portland OR. With her mother, where she met and married Walter C. Bearden. Here she worked as a candy maker (much to the delight of her children) at Van Dynes Candy.

She continued to stay very active throughout her life, traveling to visit her family and friends. Taking care of many stray dogs, cats and birds that found their way into her life, as well as volunteering her time to Meals on Wheels delivering meals to the needy.

She will continue to be loved and remembered by her 3 sons Ron, Don and Ted. Her 3 grandchildren Brooke, Justin and Breanna. Her 4 great grandchildren Kingston, Tytan, Enzo and Jett. As well as all of her many nieces and nephews that were as close as children to her, and her one surviving brother Dale.

Services shall be held at Advantage Funeral Services 1515 NE 106th Ave, Portland OR. On March 30th at 11:00 am. Followed by a reception at her home at 3602 NE 114th Ave, Portland OR.

We ask you to join us, not to mourn the loss of a beautiful soul, but rather to celebrate the time we had together and to cherish the memories we will always hold in our hearts.
