RUTH BLACKWELL Obituary
She was the widow of William Blackwell who preceded her in death. Ruth was born Dec. 24, 1923, in West Pike the daughter of the late William P. And Grace L. (Loop) Moore.
She was a volunteer for the Morris Fire Co. In addition she was a homemaker, who loved her family and friends.
Surviving are her daughters, Vivian Rawson (Dick) of Wellsboro, Marion Blackwell of Buffalo, N.Y., Anona Blackwell of Florida; sons, Wayne Blackwell, John Blackwell, both of Stony Fork; James Blackwell of Florida, Irvin Scarborough, Ferlin Scarborough, both of Ala.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; brother, Clair Moore of Wellsboro, and two sisters, Grace Sharrow of Troy, and Harriet Janus of Scranton. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Faron and Carvel and a daughter, Pansey.
Friends and family are invited to Ruth's Life Celebration Thursday, Feb. 20, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Tussey- Mosher Funeral Home, Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," 139 Main St., Wellsboro. Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. Private burial will be in Oregon Hill Cemetery. Family suggests contributions be made to Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home to help defray costs.
