Ruth A. Burge Monongahela Ruth A. Burge, 88, of Monongahela, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, in the Mon Valley Care Center, Monongahela. She was born Nov. 22, 1923, in Philipsburg, the daughter of Thomas L. and Mae Bowers Whitehead. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful homemaker and was Protestant by faith. She is survived by four daughters, Ginny Lee Watson and husband, William, Jean Fisher, Joan Evans and husband, Joseph, Doris Forsberg and husband, Craig, all of Monongahela; two sons, William F. Burge Jr. and wife, Toni, of Monongahela, and Dean Burge and wife, Stephanie, of Finleyville; six grandchildren, Connie and Jeff Watson, Deanna and Dean Burge, Brandie and Louie Wall; two great-grandchildren, Jesse Chisholm, Nathan Burge; two brothers, John "Dale" Whitehead, Norman "Lee" Whitehead and wife Margaret "Betsy" all of Philipsburg; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Burge Sr. who died Oct. 18, 2005; daughter, Wendy Burge who died May 12, 2004; son, James Burge who died March 17, 2001; granddaughter, Rena Burge who died Jan. 26, 1992. The Burge family would like to thank the staff of the Mon Valley Care Center for the care and support that was extended to their mom and to their family. Friends will be received on Thursday, Sept. 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 West Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held on Friday, Sept. 7, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Woomer officiating. There will be additional visitations Friday until the time of the funeral service. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gateway Hospice, 9380 McKnight Road, 201 Arcadia Court, Pittsburgh, PA 15237. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.fryefuneralhome.com.
