Ruth's very tragic and sudden death fills me with a very special sadness.
She was not only a beloved cousin but was a double cousin.
Her mother, Lela (Carpenter) Patten was an aunt on my mother's side, and her father, Ted Patten, was an uncle on my father's side.
Since she was a double cousin, I always felt a very special closeness between Ruth and myself. Her death is for me a very special and tragic loss. May she rest in peace.
Her family and friends have my very deepest sympathy.

We share in your sorrow. Ruth was special in so many ways. It is never goodbye for a Christian. Just so long for awhile. We have so many good memories of the two of you. We enjoyed having you visit in every place we lived. Heaven's sounding sweeter all the time. I hope Ruth and Joanna will meet in Heaven. We love you and continue to lift you up in prayer.

Ruth is one of the most gracious, delightful, caring, sharing, appreciative, beautiful in all aspects, Christ-like, giving, hard working and entertaining ladies we have ever known and loved. Caroline has known Ruth since she was a bride and served Carl breakfast the morning Rhoda was born. She was missed here on Earth as soon as she was welcomed home in Heaven. She will continue to be sorely missed by her husband: Carl, son: Arvid, grandchildren and the extended families and friends around the world. Her beautiful photo appears to be from their 50th anniversary held in our church. Caroline and Darrell Morehouse, Casper, Wyoming.
