I got to know Ruth through David, her husband. I was always welcomed by her no matter the time of day or circumstance of my visits or phone calls. She provided a warm engaging and intellectually stimulating space that allowed me to feel apart of a community. She also had a sly wit that more than skewered me when I became full of myself. It was always done in kindness. Her kindness really meant a lot and I will miss her. My deepest condolences to you David.

Ruth was my neighbor. Though I didn't know her long she inspired me. She came over just after we moved in to let my late husband know that his music was just a bit loud, lol. Then she baked us cookies as a house warming gift. We talked of sharing the same name; although my "Ruth" is my middle name. Last summer Ruth dug up a start from her lilac bush and brought it over to my house. We both planted it in my front yard. I will always have a little piece of Ruth in my heart and my yard. I will miss you Ruth.

Ruth did me the honor of performing at the Halcyon Gallery in a play I wrote. She gave beautiful life to the words. She was a warm and sincere person. Deepest condolences to David and her children.

She will always be Mrs Erickson to me. No matter how fast the years went by, when I saw her she always remembered me. I have fond memories of hanging out at the house with Dea when we were in high school. She was a true lady!

I have several wonderful memories, but I will start with spending time with the whole family at their home in West T, and on a few occasions, I got to visit the cabin in Wisconsin. This is where this city girl got to see a deer "walk on water". Actually, it was the frozen solid lake, but it was a fascinating memory as Ruth explained to me why the deer do this. Later in life, in my early 30´s, 40´s, and 50´s, Ruth and I would go out to lunch just to catch up. Then as she began this journey to her passing, I would visit once or twice a week to take food to her and David. I would stay for a few hours and we would talk about life, hers, David´s, the kids, and my life. It was truly a blessing to share this time with her. Ruth, you will be missed! You are loved!

Ruth was one of my very best friends. Never judging and always loving. She had been very supportive during difficult times and the most difficult, the death of my husband. She was a neighbor to my Grandparents first and then my late husband and I raised our kids in my Grandparent's home. We traded many cookies, meals and treats through the gulley between our houses. She was a lovely angel and she will be missed greatly!
