Ruth,
Back in 1966 when we first met, you welcomed me with open arms. You were a mother image to me.
I remember the first thing I noticed in your home, was the plaque on the wall that reads KEEP LOOKING UP.
Within your home, it was a home with Cheese Potatoes, Red Velvet Cake and those ugly hard boiled eggs you put in the beet juice to turn them red. And it worked.
Then the miles separated us and the letters and phone calls kept coming, and the kids and I knew it was Christmas when the surprise box from Terre Haute came. That started the tradition in our home to open it on Christmas Eve after church. With the hand made crafts that you did on your own, the dresses and the crafts that you made in your Home Ec Club.
Before I go I have one last thing to say, and it’s about Dad. There was never a conversation being in person or on the phone, that he did not say, keep plenty of oil in your lamp, for we never know when Gods’ coming.
So Ruth, I open my arms to let you go, to be with Our Father, and we will meet again.
Love,
Your other daughter, Barb
P.S. Mary, I do remember you. You were a neighbor of Dad and Ruth’s and or in her Home Ec Club.

Years of my life reflect the love and care Grandma, that you gave to me from the time I was born!
I couldn't have got this far along in life if hadn't been for your song of living life to the fullest ringing in my ears.
Thank You! In my heart and soul you will always be.
Its not a beautiful journey of the end
But, a joyous reunion with family and friends,
To carry on there, as you stand watch over us all here
