Ruth Ermine Rabenhorst

Rabenhorst, Ruth Ermine Born in Watertown, WI, 9-13-1934 & went Home to be with her Lord on 8-14-2010. She was a graduate of West Suburban Hospital School of Nurs- ing, Oak Park, IL & received her B.S. in Nursing from Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL. She became a Certified Nurse-Midwife after having attended the Frontier Nursing Service in Hyden, KY. Ruth spent ten years as a missionary in Cameroon, West Africa & worked as a Staff Nurse-Midwife at Hennepin Co. Med. Center, Minneapolis, retiring in January 1997. She also filled an adjunct faculty appointment at the University of Minnesota. She was a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwifery & served in numerous medical capacities. Ruth is listed in "Outstanding Women of America--Who's Who!" 1970. Ruth was an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Minneapolis, serving in many capacities, including Women's Ministries & as a caregiver. She was a faithful prayer-warrior & visitor of shut-ins & the sick. She was also named "Woman of the Year" in 1994. She is survived by one sister, Dorothy Young (Jerry) of Minneapolis and a brother, Richard (Beth) of Longview, TX, as well as nieces, nephews & their children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin & Florence (Groth) Rabenhorst & an infant brother, Carl. Service Wednesday, 1 PM, Bethlehem Baptist Church, 720-13th Ave. S., Mpls., visitation beginning at 11 AM. Interment, Oak Hill Cemetery, Watertown, WI.
