STANLEY, RUTH, 74



Summerfield - Ruth Stanley, 74, died peacefully at home on March 16, 2008 surrounded by her children. She Is predeceased by her husband, David Stanley. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she raised eight children in Baldwin, Long Island and then returned to school to become a registered nurse. After retiring to Summerfield, FL, she became an active member of St Theresa Catholic Church, Belleview, where she founded the Bereavement Ministry, was an officer in the Ladies Guild, and volunteered in the soup kitchen. She was a trained Spiritual Director, and recently reached the 1st degree as a Columbiette. Mrs. Stanley is survived by her sons, David Stanley, William (Patrice) Stanley, Greg Stanley, Rock Stanley; daughters, Susan Stanley, Maureen (Joe) Santos, Nancy (Joe) Vareles, Tricia (Dave) Noblett; sisters, Joan Rutledge, Joyce (Bob) Dolan and Betty (Chris) Bastian; 16 grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, with Fr. David Vivero officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 2 - 4 PM with the Columbiettes celebrating her life with a service at 3:30 and 6 - 8 PM at HIERS-BAXLEY FUNERAL SERVICES, 5946 SE Robinson Road, Belleview.
