Ryan Christopher Morris Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 25, 2024.
Christopher Morris, our son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, uncle, and friend, left this earth too soon in the morning of June 20, 2024 after a prolonged struggle with addiction. To those who were fortunate enough to know and love him, he will be remembered for so much more.

Ryan Christopher Morris (aka Christopher, Chris to his friends, affectionately to his mom as Cristobal, and to his dad's family, he will always be Topher) was born on a beautiful Sunday, March 31, 1996, to Ryan Morris and Kasi Alcorn. He joined his older siblings Emily and Dylan, and as the baby of the family, Christopher was a beloved addition. He was an adorable child with a flair for the dramatic, and he loved singing his most favorite Disney musicals for anyone who would listen. He played pretend with his siblings and loved to entertain. That talent and love for performing followed him through adolescence and into adulthood as he shined in high school theater and became a gifted storyteller.

Christopher's outgoing nature allowed him to make friends easily. He had a quick wit, a knack for the ridiculous, and a love for the art of sarcasm. His humor and his larger-than-life personality were huge parts of the gravitational force pulling people toward him and making him the natural center of attention-a role that he relished. Yet, as engaging as he was, what kept people coming back was his genuine interest in connection. As a friend, Christopher was a fierce defender and an eternal hype-man who loved deep conversations.

Some of the best times to talk with Christopher were during his marathon walks. Christopher was immensely curious about people and places and intensely appreciative of beautiful things-be that a city landscape, a beach sunset, a green space, or an interesting piece of art. Every place he visited, he loved just walking and exploring and people-watching. He put a lot of miles on his Doc Martens while taking in his surroundings, oftentimes on his phone talking to family and friends about everything from his philosophy on life to Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga. His curiosity fed his sense of adventure, pushing him to bravely move to Hawaii and Washington after being raised in Utah and Colorado.

Christopher took pride in being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community. He found joy in advocacy and fulfillment in boldly living his life out loud. In honor of Christopher's legacy, his family asks for you to be an ally to the LGBTQ community, and, like Christopher, to live a beautiful life full of color. Christopher loved wholly and deeply. Christopher was loved wholly and deeply. He will be missed. Every Day.

Christopher fought the demons of addiction for too long. His family is heartbroken by his loss, but knows he is finally at peace-free from addiction and pain and the darkness that too often overcame him. Christopher is survived by his father Ryan Morris (Annisa Johnson-Morris); mother Kasi Alcorn (Jeremy Rucker); sister Emily Liebel (Spencer); brother Dylan Morris; nephews Mason and Shea Liebel and niece Sadie Liebel; paternal grandmother Carma Morris; maternal grandmother Jeri Alcorn; and more aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends than can be named. He is predeceased by his paternal grandfather Daniel Morris and his maternal grandfather David Alcorn.

Christopher was the light and humor in our friend group in high school, and I feel so lucky to have called him my friend. Anyone that was close with him is surely better for it. I´ll miss talking with him about Lady Gaga, musicals, and horror movies. I hope he knows how loved he was, and how much better he made the world just by being in it. So many of my memories from school involve him, and I will always remember Christopher and all of our many inside jokes, fondly. Love you, Christopher.

Chris was always making a funny turn around. His struggles were great but he made sure that everyone was always smiling.

May his heart be full and his soul at peace.

When Christoper was in grade school and junior high, he used to come over to my house and hang out with my daughter, Natalie, their friends. Christoper stood out among the kids with his high energy, silliness, infectious laugh, and kindness! He will be missed!

Chris was one of my best friends in elementary school. I remember laughing with him at recess, singing songs from Wicked with him on the swing-set, and always having the very best time. He came to all of my birthday would be the life of the party by sining karaoke with me and playing dress up. He came back to Fort Collins to go to homecoming with all our friends and I remember having the best time dancing with him. My heart is broken by the news of his passing. The world will miss his kindness and joy. My heart goes out to everyone who got to be a part of his life.

Chris was a good friend of mine in high school. I remember being thrilled to be sat next to him in class because I knew that would mean it would be a fun period filled with laughs and silliness. He had a way of turning my bad days into good days, and making sure everybody around him was smiling or laughing. He was such a light and had a larger than life personality. What I would give to have one more conversation with him, or get one more hug from him. I hope that wherever he is, that he feels free. And I hope he can feel how much love we all have for him. This world lost such a bright light and kind soul. We love you Chris.

Chris was always a constant in my life. We always picked up right where we left off. He made me laugh harder than anyone has. I remember him calling me after not talking for a few months and the first thing he´d ask is "oh my god girl how are you??" He was very selfless and always remembered to say he loved me. I still feel like you´re here. You´re going to be my guardian angel and I can´t wait for you to show yourself to me in cool ways. I love you forever Chris

Christopher was one of my first friends when I moved to Erie in 6th grade. I have fond memories of us going swimming together at the Vista Ridge pool and obsessing over the Twilight series at the time. Unfortunately we lost touch after I moved away my sophomore year, but Christopher will always be remembered in my mind as someone who wasn´t afraid to be himself and was a friend to those that needed one.

Sending my greatest condolences to those that love him.

I got to put Chris in drag for the first time. We spent so much time on his makeup and walking that first night; I wanted to make sure he wouldn´t break an ankle in those heels lol
He called me his drag mother and even though we lost touch after he left Hawai´i, that child is forever stunning. So expressive and full of joy when he was around people.
All the love in the world to you and all of your family x

One of the best people I've ever met! I am beyond grateful to say I got the pleasure to be Topher's friend. He always made me smile and laugh even on the days I didn't want to! He was my first slow dance at homecoming and I'll forever remember him doing me the honor of doing that just for me. He was such a beautiful soul that left this world far too soon! I'll miss you Topher!

I knew Chris in high school, and almost every memory I have of him involves us laughing. He used to draw me hilarious pictures and write silly letters and notes in class. I still have them. He was such a light in my life and will be so missed by everyone who knew him.

In high school in Colorado, I convinced Chris to play a part in the musical "Guys and Dolls". He played a photographer and his job was to run around the stage and be over the top (which he was obviously great at). One night for a live performance he got so into character that he tripped and fell while running across the stage playing the photographer. He laughed it off. I´m so happy I have the memories of performing together.

Christopher always had a smile for Aunt Betty. I enjoyed our talks in Facebook until he stopped. I will always love his sweet soul and am so happy for him now that he is with his grandfathers who love him dearly. Enjoy the peace sweet Christopher I love you.

Whenever Christopher and I hung out he would ask me to tell him a story and makeup a fairytale for him. I was just sharing this memory with my husband as I found the senior photo Christopher gave me with a cute message written on the back. So glad I kept it and am so sad to hear about this loss.

Ryan (Chris) and I got real closer in his time in Hawaii. He and I were Roomates, and offen talked about life over coffee- even got him a job with me at Starbucks. He introduced me to drag and I´ve learned how strong he was and how passionate he was about our community. His care for his friends were deep, he will be severely missed
