Ryan Klen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 15, 2024.
We gather here to remember and honor the life of Robert Ryan Klen, affectionately known as Ryan.

As we reflect on his journey, we hold dear the profound impact Ryan had on those he cherished. In the depths of their hearts, he will forever remain alive. Ryan is survived by his beloved wife, Bridgette, his daughters Rylee and Layla, and his bonus children Lindsay (and Jon), Emma, Alex, and Adam. Additionally, he leaves behind precious memories shared with his cherished grandchildren, Liam, Lucas, Ava, Liliana and Amais who affectionately refer to him as "Papa Jeep". Ryan's father Robert David Klen, his sister Carrie, his brother David, his grandmothers Louise Carson, and Wilma Klen, and Tony Haire .

Through the ebb and flow of existence, we find peace in knowing that Ryan has reunited with his departed mother, Deborah Haire, and his grandfathers, Harold Carson and Bob Klen. And as Ryan embarks on his next great adventure, we can only imagine the uproarious reunion with his close friend Rodney Odom. May their spirits be enfolded in eternal grace.

In the realm of spirituality, Ryan sought refuge and inspiration from Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC, and Free Chapel in Gainesville GA. It was there that he found a personal relationship with Jesus. How glorious it is to know that he is face-to-face with him and that we can look forward to seeing them both someday.

Ryan never missed an opportunity to make a new friend, and when he did that relationship was sure to last a lifetime! He had a wide range of true close friends from all walks of life as he fit in anywhere. Those life-long friendships continued to stay stong because he genuinely loved to fix things and help people. If you mentioned something was broken he was eager to fix it for you. Afterward, he would cook you the most amazing dish you ever had. It was pure magic!
Ryan's career in food covered every aspect of the business and he used his extensive knowledge to help many restaurateurs grow their business. And as an Executive Chef, he would revamp their menu to ensure success. He never really needed a recipe as he always said he could taste it in his mind. At the time of his passing, he was focused on a new endeavor in Vero Beach Florida.
Ryan loved life and many of us will hold dear the memories we share doing the things he loved outside of being a Chef. If he wasn't in the kitchen you would find him either under his Jeep or driving it listening to music. He loved riding the trails, driving to the beach, camping, and fireside conversations. Naturally, gourmet food was a must even while camping. He leaves us with memories that will make us laugh for ages. Ryan infused every moment with his energetic spirit and zest for life. Let the memories of Ryan's infectious laughter, and his mouth-watering creations bring a smile to your face. May his spirit continue to sprinkle laughter and happiness wherever it goes.
During this tender time of remembrance, let us hold onto the memories of Ryan's infectious smile, his compassionate heart, and his unwavering commitment to his craft. May his spirit continue to guide us towards kindness and love. As we bid farewell to this remarkable soul, we offer our deepest gratitude for the purposeful influence he had on our lives.
We ask God to grant peace and serenity to those left behind. May Ryan's soul find eternal peace and may his memory be an everlasting source of inspiration to us all.

Ryan and I meet way back in the 90's when he moved to Raleigh thru his sister Carrie. We became fast friends and even thought he was years younger then me he taught me lessons that changed they way I thought about how we live our lives and I carry those lessons with me to this day. He loved life and sharing that love with the people around him. I dont remember when he didnt have a smile on this face. Some of my fondest memories are from taking my jeep to the lake to ride jet skies with friends and just hanging out and talking. Ryan good luck on your journey into the great perhaps.

My husband, James and I met Ryan in Vero Beach. We all learned we moved into this area around the same time and became friends. Although we only knew him for a few months, our relationship with Ryan meant a lot to us. James is diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and has not been able to put his feet in the ocean for 1.5 years due to instability issues. Before MS, James used to be a surfer so the thought of not even getting down to the water is sad for us. Ryan began working on building James a walker that could be used at the beach with the agreement that James would teach him how to surf. We were both excited about this and I told my friends about what a miracle it was that someone would be so kind. Ryan made a beautiful dinner for us when my mom was here (and cleaned up). He helped us with repairing our tour van, took James for a drive, and helped me with some things around the house that was outside of my skill level or required two people. Our dog, Pua, absolutely loved him. We send healing energy and prayers to Bridgette, his family, and friends.

Ryan, I have so many childhood memories with you that I´ll cherish. As cousins, the four of us spent so many weekends and summers together. Countless hours shelling peas and taking hot sauce shots. My deepest sympathies to Carrie, Bridgette, your precious daughters and all of your family and friends. Rest in peace dear cousin.

Ry you will always have my whole heart! Everytime I looked in your eyes I knew how much love there was between us. One touch from your hand I knew I would always be safe. We always said that our wish was for everyone to find what we were blessed to have. The depth of the love that we experienced between us was life changing. I am not yet sure how to live without you. You will forever have my whole heart and I will hold on to our memories until we meet again in the presence of heaven. Your loving wife Bridgette Honey Miller Klen
