Ryan May Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 1, 2016.
Ryan Patrick May, 20, passed away unexpectedly Saturday August 27, 2016. He was a very intelligent young man with a passion and talent for baseball. He never let the pain he experienced over the last year stop him from getting out on the field to play another game. His loyalty to family and his supportive and funny wit will be greatly missed. Surviving are his mother, who Ryan always called "Ma", Lisa Weiks (Pete Wormcastle); his father, Patrick May (Amy Schindler); step dad, Mitch Foltz; and his lifelong mentor and father figure, Tahl Glass. He is also survived by his brothers, Tyler (Kayla) Douglas and Brody Douglas; sisters, Loryn May, Morgyn Foltz, Sheena, Justice and Charity Schindler; grandmother, Mary L. Weiks; aunts and uncles, Terri (Kevin) Christman, Jim (Linda) Weiks, Shelley (Don) Robertson, Jeff (Paula) Weiks; a niece, Ramona Douglas; and numerous cousins that all loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James F Weiks. Visitation will be on Friday, September 2, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 6810 Old Trail Rd, Fort Wayne. Ryan May, you had a Beautiful Soul. I am blessed to have been able to have known you as a child. I was also blessed to be able to again have the opportunity to hear from you again as an adult. You were a kind, unique, and caring individual. Thank you for allowing me to know that part of you. I have no doubt in my mind where you are now...Fly High

Missing you

Ryan, I only met you last year when I was in the mix of finding myself, you have touched my heart with the kindness of yours I was and still am so thankful that you had entered into my life and showed me that happiness exists in the heart, we got along so great it was like we always known one another, I will forever be greatful for the help you gave to my children and I, and for as little as we known each other, you will forever be missed and forever be in my heart. Prayers and love go out to your family even though I had never met them, Your son was and still is inspiring and will forever be loved.

I miss you so much. The emptiness I feel in my heart is overwhelming. Why when we became the closest you had to leave me ? Please know that everyone loved you so much and it won't be the same without you here with us. You are my hero and I am so proud to call you my son.

Lisa
I was surprised to see the obit of your son in the paper. I'm sure you and your family are hurting; please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I still remember the day, I met your four oldest children while I was in the nursing home. I expect that Ryan was likely 7 or 8 at that time. Hope the prayers help you remember the good times -- They help us recover.

Lisa, I know there is nothing I can say to console your broken heart. I am praying for your strength in difficult days ahead. I can't come to the viewing but you will be in my thoughts. I will be in touch soon.

I am sorry for your loss! No parent should have to endure this kind of pain. My daughter was a friend of Ryan's and I gave him a ride a couple of times...he was a good kid with a good heart....always polite and a good friend to the people he cares about. He will be missed by many. I am praying for his family. God Bless
