Ryland Thomas Holmes

Ryland Thomas Holmes, known as "Shorty" was born on January 8, 1942, to the late Warner L. Holmes Sr. and the late Frances Lee Holmes. He joined Ebenezer Baptist Church at an early age. In his spare time he loved dancing, fishing and riding his moped. He was a kind person and would do anything for anybody. In a daily basis he enjoyed looking out for the mail man, then afterwards he would deliver it to his family. "Shorty", departed this life on Monday, September 14, 2015. He is survived by two sisters Bernice Ferguson and Marion Sorrell of Supply, VA; One brother William "Jibo" Holmes (Barbara Jean) of Woodford, Va. Four sister-in-laws, Mattie Lee of Supply, VA, Pearl Holmes of Supply, VA, Barbara Jean Holmes of Woodford, VA and Ursula Homes of King George, Va. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Two special friends Rita Coghill and Mary Coleman, whom she called her son.
