Sally A. Buchmiller: A Life of Steadfast Dedication

Sally A. Buchmiller, born to the late William and Alice (Williams) Fenstermaker in Allentown. She passed away at age 90 on hospice care at Fellowship Community on Monday, July 14th, 2025.

She was the devoted wife of the late Robert Buchmiller. Together, she and Robert shared a love for travel, exploring the world and serving as the "North Star" for creating cherished memories with their blended family.

Sally is survived by her loving family: son, Michael Brandt, and his wife, Cecelia; stepdaughter, Donna Strain, and her companion, Mark Williamson; stepson, David Buchmiller; daughter-in-law, Suzan Brandt, wife of late Robert Brandt II; former daughter-law, Cynthia (Brandt) Hyde; brother, William Fenstermaker; sister, Kay Fenstermaker; and brother-in-law, Cornelius Novotny. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Elizabeth Brandt, Robert Brandt III, Khyla (Brandt) Flores, Matthew Brandt, Staci (Strain) Wolfe, Kristopher Strain, and Brandon Strain, along with 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.

Sally is predeceased by son, Robert Brandt II; sister Nancy Novotny; sister-in-law, Betty Fenstermaker; and aunt, Joyce Williams.

Sally's professional life began at Bell Telephone and her contributions were part of a significant era of growth and technological advancement in telecommunications. Following her retirement from Verizon (formerly Bell Telephone), Sally dedicated her skills to the Whitehall-Coplay Public Library. At the library, Sally worked in circulation, sharing her infectious smile with everyone who stopped by to check out books. She was a voracious reader herself, embodying the spirit of the library's mission. Her work contributed significantly to the library's role in enriching the lives of Whitehall and Coplay residents.

Her deepest commitment was demonstrated through her extensive and dedicated service at Faith Lutheran Church in Whitehall. Sally served for many years, including in the vital role of financial secretary. Beyond her administrative duties, she was a vibrant and active member of the congregation, volunteering for many church events, lending her voice to the choir, and playing the church hand bells. For decades, Sally was a guiding light for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, actively involved in many aspects of the church alongside them.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, inviting all who knew her to honor her legacy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sally's honor to the Faith Ev. Lutheran Church at 3355 MacArthur Rd. Whitehall, PA or charity of choice.
