Sally Ann Copell

Sally Ann Copell of Danvers passed away at 75 on March 4, 2025. She was descended from long lines of Copells and McCarthys in Boston and Mannings and Watsons in Essex County. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas H. Copell Jr. and Catherine M. (Watson) Copell, her sister Susan Manning Copell, and her brother Thomas H. Copell III. She is survived by her cousins Peter Myette, Pamela Myette, Laura Boyd, Gerard Myette, Daniel Watson, Mark Hunter, Gregory Hunter, David Howard, Stephen Hunter, and Ann Howard. Her late cousins were Nancy Copell Myette, Natalie Copell Watson, Richard C. Howard, Harold R. Howard Jr., Constance Collier Copell Hunter, Roger Paul Myette Jr., and Richard K. Watson Jr.

Born May 19, 1949, in Lynn, Sally attended Ste. Chretienne Academy in Salem, graduating as treasurer of her class in 1967. She received a business degree in medical secretarial studies from Marian Court College and set out on a four-decade-long healthcare career, starting in administration at MGH. Sally later excelled as a supervisor of inpatient admitting at Salem Hospital, as a medical practice manager with Erickson Senior Living and then North Shore Physicians Group, and as a patient service representative with what is now Mass General Brigham. She gave much of her free time to local politics, where the objectives were essential, compelling, and in service to the vulnerable of her community. Sally's dedicated campaign work grew out of the same generous sense, dependability, and humor she shared in abundance with friends and family.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant Street, Danvers, MA, Wednesday, April 23rd at 10 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or another service organization of your choice.
