Gordon, Sally 5/18/1956 - 1/29/2017 Parma, MI Sally (Getchell) Gordon left her body and went to Heaven on January 29, 2017. She was born in Cincinnati, OH and grew up in Jenkintown, PA. After graduating from Harcum College with a degree in Veterinary Technology, Sally moved to East Lansing, MI, where she worked at MSU Vet School as a large animal tech. She met Steve, who married her and saved her from a life of prosperity. Their life was an adventure living in several parts of the country, finally coming back to the family farm in 2008. She was preceded by her father and mother, Robert and Jane Getchell, and a brother, David Getchell. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Steve Gordon, and their daughter, Katie. Also her brothers Jeff (Denise) Getchell and Robert Getchell, as well as several nieces and nephews. Please come and celebrate her well-lived life with us on her birthday, May 18, 2017. To be held at the pavilion at the Tompkins Show Grounds across from the Tompkins Town Hall. 2:00 - 5:00. We look forward to sharing memories with you. We're creating a memory book, so feel free to bring them in writing. Cards and memories can also be sent to Steve and Katie Gordon at 8620 Gordon Rd., Parma, MI 49269.

It's hard to respond to this and find the perfect way to describe Sally to us.....the words that illuminate are friend, mentor, sister in christ, and confidante. Sally and Steve were integral for our upbringing to our Father Christ. We are sad to hear of her passing but we do know and believe that this is not the end. Steve and Katie, we love you and miss you guys

Steve, I am so sorry to hear of Sally's passing. I was only with you and her those 2 days in 2013, but what a delight it was. Sally was a precious woman who loved The Lord. She was very pretty, intelligent, and made the best cornbread. As you may recall, my husband passed away due to cancer in 2010. The visit with you both and Ron was such a respite. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Only God can give true comfort at this time, but how sweet that comfort is. If Ron needs a driver in May, I hope to bring him to her memorial.

My sister was a special person in my life. She was my best friend, there was nothing that we couldn't share. She knew me like no one else on the planet and she still loved me. I feel like I have lost the moon of my world.

Steve and Katie, I am so sorry for your loss of a wonderful wife and mother. I still remember how gracious you were to me when Laverne passed away. May the Lord bring you comfort.
