Sally Hope Obituary
The day after Sally graduated from Maury High School she went to work for the C & P Telephone Company where she served in many capacities during her 30 year career.
Sally loved to entertain, and she and her husband were members of the Colonial Virginian RV Club and the Khedive RV Club.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband, Thomas B. Hope; her daughter, Wendy H. Dempsey and her husband, Tim of Chesapeake; her son, Bart Hope of Virginia Beach; her grandson, Alex Dempsey. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Koch Jefferson.
Before her passing, Sally and Tommy had celebrated their 63rd anniversary on February 1st. After their marriage Sally, Diane Haskell and Helen Galanides became best friends for over 60 years by way of marrying Tommy's late childhood friends, Gary Haskell and Ted Galanides. The three couples shared such a good friendship that will forever be cherished by Tommy, Diane, and Helen.
The family will receive friends at a visitation this evening (Wednesday) from 6 until 7 p.m. at the Norfolk Chapel of H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 1501 Colonial Ave. A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, April 1st at 11:00 a.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Sally was a lovely person. I enjoyed working with her who is the retired members club for CWA local 2201 formally 2202. We shared many laughs. She will be missed.
