Salvatore (Sal) Barone, age 84, passed into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at St. Elizabeths Hospital, with his loving family by his side. Born in Utica on March 8, 1930, he was the son of Peter and Rose (DiFazio) Barone. He was a graduate of Proctor High School and MVCC and served his Country in the US Navy for four years. On May 17, 1952, he was united in marriage to Theresa Cofano, sharing a devoted bond for 63 years. Sal was Vice President of Clifford Fuel Company, retiring after 26 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, David and wife, Nancy; daughters, Lynn Barone Baker, Lori Barone, and Lisa and husband, Glen Ford; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also a brother, Anthony Barone. He was predeceased by his brother, Vincent, and sister, Theresa. In keeping with Sal's wishes, cremation was provided by the Neptune Society. Family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial mass on Wednesday, June 18th, at 11:00 at St. Mark's Church, 440 Keyes Rd., Utica.
