"Mr. Russo", as I will always remember him, was a frequent topic of conversation at our family dinner table when I was growing up in a GRS-led household. I remember my dad speaking favorably of many of his GRS colleagues, and Mr. Russo was at the top of that list. For me as an impressionable young boy growing up, you were "big medicine" if dad talked you up at the dinner table. Dad passed away in 2011, but the legends of GRS and his stories will always be part of my memories. Tim Glines (son of former GRS employee Robert H. Glines ).

Very sorry to hear about Sam's passing. I had the pleasure and honor to work with Sam at GRS in the 80's. My fondest memories were when we got together at our Florida Sales Meetings. Sam always had a great sense of humor and was very well respected within the RR community. RIP.

Sam was an absolute legend in the rail industry during his career at General Railway Signal. Beloved by his company and its customers, he was a mentor and friend to so many. Sam leaves behind a legacy filled with very fond memories.

Sam was a dear friend to both of us. We think of him all the time and all of the great times we had working together. This is very hard for both of us to see and wish we could be there to celebrate his life with his family we love so much. Bob and Jan Anderson

Always dedicated to his work. 25th Anniversary with GRS.

Sam lived his life with passion and conviction by his deeds. His devotion to his family and church was beyond reproach. His service to those in need will be missed. Sam you earned your wings. Rest to an angel for a life well lived.

Sam was always good company when I saw him in the morning with Julia at the Woodridge McDonald's. We had a good time talking about the "old days" in Rochester, NY (his home) and Buffalo, NY (my home). He was a wonderful person, and he will be greatly missed. Jerry Munley
