Samer Hakim Obituary
Samer owned Yazzi's Bar and Grill in Wood Village for eight years and Innovative Metal Design in Troutdale for six years. He enjoyed time with his family, friends and his dog Pacino. His many interests included soccer, fishing, dancing, music, relaxing with movies, food and playing with his nephews and nieces. He enjoyed different languages and cultures and loved traveling to Maui and trips to Crescent Lake to enjoy the sun.
Samer is survived by his wife Kara Hakim of Gresham OR; daughter Carmen Hakim of Gresham OR; parents Nabil and Najat Hakim of Portland OR and sisters Samara Hakim of San Diego CA and Miriam Hakim of Portland OR.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Saint Sharbel Church, 1804 SE 16th Avenue, Portland OR 97214 with interment to follow at Lincoln Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.

To Samer the young man…
Samer my son all the words of all the languages in the whole Universal world cannot express my feelings for leaving us. You are my only son ,my sunshine light , my love (habibi), my hope and happiness in life. I feel that my time clock has stopped, my heart beating are messed up, my soul is not functioning, my dreams have vanished, my journey in life has no more meaning to me and all my thoughts are stopped at only one thought that I will miss you. Samer (habibi) for the rest of my life I won't forget each moment I lived with you for 29 years of our life, I'm seeking to see you smiling, happy and having fun like you used to do.
Samer (habibi) you are a part of my body and my soul forever. I assure the whole world that you were and still the most precious gift god gave us in our entire family.

It's so hard looking at your picture at the left of this screen knowing why I am writing this. I still can't believe that you are gone. I pray that the grief gets easier in time for all of us by knowing you are resting in peace and that we will meet again. Sam was the kindest, most caring boss I have ever had the pleasure of working for. His understanding and generosity at a difficult time in my life helped me to overcome many obstacles.
