One year later, today,
Gripping the reality – a struggle
Awakening from this dream – a wish
To have, hold, never let go….
Separated by destiny,
Love grows unbound,
Hearts embrace dearly,
Minds wish eternal peace,
Remembered, loved, admired,
Your sweet young life celebrated,
Now and continually….
Samir your love is our guiding light!

M I R …………… from “Jajjy”
Help me O loved one to shake off this ugly dream
And wake in the Real world with thee,
For the taste of that Reality we yearn, from the pit of our tummy
Guide me with thy hidden hand, touch me with thy pure and loving laughter,
As I slowly mend the broken fabric of life
Be the Father and let me be the playful Child
So I may see the world again for the first time with your Vision
Every moment joined to the next in Time's endless cycle

Dearest Sweetest Samir,
We hold on to your memories!
Every moment of our lives –
we miss you and think of you… remember you and wish we were together. . .
How we long to see –
your sweet smile… the glitter in your eyes,
hear your loving young voice… your joyous laughter from the heart
and so much more…
One whole year has nearly gone by-
yet it is hard to believe that you were snatched away…
very very very far away, forever and forever….
How we wish you were nearby and so you could quickly come back…
How we wish you were here, how we wish you were here.
How impossible it is to come to terms -
with this heart wrenching truth, filled with sheer unfairness…
And yet we are left with little choice –
but to accept and simply carry on our mundane lives…
Knowing though for surely –
someday we will meet again… in some unknown place faraway…
And then we can begin again –
where we left off and be able to shower all our love upon you
and then stay together forever after… at last! –
With love and honor for our sweet loving son, Samir

Dear Samir,
I remember 10 years ago I had just moved into the neighborhood and had very few friends. I met Mihir in school then I met his amazing little brother. We used to always play video games and I remember always borrowing and trading them. I wish I had more time in the past few years to come home more often so it would be like back then again. Hanging out with you and seeing you so strong and happy made tough times fade away. You'll always be in our hearts. May you rest in peace.

As one of my good friends from elementary school, I will never forget you and all the good memories that you brought to everyone around you. I truly believe that you are an angel. Samir, I remember the one time we played basketball together. It was only one time and it was a short time together, at that. You asked for my name and I told you it. The next time I saw you at the park, you said hi to me and you even remembered my name. I was pleasantly surprised. You made the best of your time and lived life to the fullest; now you can rest in peace.

Samir,
I've known you for quite some time now, and we have had some great times. I think one of
my most vivid memories of you is from way back in early elementary school: we were at your house playing a Harry Potter video game, haha. I remember that when I first found out that you had cancer, I was in utter shock. I couldn't really be...lieve it, and when I finally wrapped my head around it, I just didn't think it was fair. And it wasn't fair. But when I emailed you, and you seemed like nothing happened, you gave me strength. Isn't that funny? You gave me strength in a time where I should have been giving you strength. And of course, we kept in touch over the years. I always enjoyed talking to you on Facebook or shooting some hoops with you. It made me so happy and proud to see you making so many more shots than I could. Every time I talked to you, my respect for you grew, as if that was even possible. You were from all the way back in elementary school and always will be strong, courageous, and inspiring. I hope one day I can positively impact as many people's lives as you have and continue to, Samir. I look up to you. Whenever I find myself wondering "what's the point of it all?" I will remember you and your journey, and you will guide me on my own. You were a bright light in all of our lives Samir, and I know you are in a better place now, still shining your light. In your life, you didn't hate, but you chose to love. You should know that every single person who's life you've touched will continue to spread your message. Rest in peace Samir.

I always remember seeing you happy whenever I came over to hang out with Mihir. I only wish I had known you better. Even though you were fighting leukemia, it seemed that nothing could faze you. You will be missed dearly, but I know that you're in a better place now. My condolences to Uncle, Aunty, and Mihir. RIP.

It always astonished me how you could keep that smile on your face and make others smile while you were at it. This comes as a brutal shock to me and my family, I wish I could do something to bring you back, because you were, and continue to be my role model. If I ever find myself in a difficult situation, I can just imagine ho...w you would smile to get through it. I just can't believe you're gone. You remain with us forever in spirit. Dear Samir,
I truly admire your strength. That is perhaps an understatement. Although we were only classmates at Forest Park elementary school, I'm glad we were able to remain in contact through facebook. I distinctly remember trying to describe to you where Taiwan was but you said you already knew - how silly of me. I love how you wou...ld update your statuses and send inbox messages so we all know what you're battling against. I'm honored to be able to tell others about you, Samir, the brave and optimistic boy! You are a true inspiration to all of us. I will pray for you and your family, and may you rest in peace, Samir.

Samir,
I wish we hadn't lost contact as much as we did as we got older but I'm glad I got the chance to know you when I did. You were such a happy-go-lucky person and were always a joy to talk to. I remember back in elementary school when we used to hang out. In fact, I remember a particular time when I went over to your house and w...e played for hours. I rarely went to other people's houses when I was in elementary school so it really meant a lot to me that you gave me that chance. You were a great friend and you are truly an inspiration Samir. I wish I could have just a small fraction of determination and perseverance that you possessed. I know that all your hard work and friendliness will not go unanswered and you are in a better place now. God bless to you and your family. I wish I could make it to the service, however I'm at school and cannot make it physically. I will be thinking and praying. Rest in peace Samir.

Dude, I still can't believe you're gone so suddenly. I've known you since elementary school, and you were strong, even back then. I still remember how everyone used to play basketball at FP, and I also remember how we used to play games like foosball at your house too. I especially remember the time when you came to my birthday party ...in 6th grade at Karts n' Golf, and, along with everyone else, took the golf balls out of the bushes and everything so we could keep on playing. I remember that you also had a lot of fun while playing with the bumper cars.
You've been fighting for quite a while, and I have to say that you never gave up, even if the odds were against you. That is what I admire about you the most. If you can read this, you can see how much everyone (including me) is going to miss you. Rest in peace bro.

Samir, the first time I met you was probably on Moder Warefar 2. And I must apologize for how I was back then. I judged you without knowing you and how strong you really are. Then I met u at Satvik's birthday party and I over heard Indy talking to Anand and some other people about how strong you were, I didn't understand at the time, ...but I started to later. Then I played Basketball with you and your brother at Forest Park and I have to say you were a really great player! You were an awesome teamate too! Words can't describe what I am feeling right now Samir. When I found out about your passing, my heart just dropped. You were so strong, always battle ready, and you never let your hopes down. How I... used to be scared of going up, and you always pushing me and trying yourself to get up. I remember when we met at Satvik's house that day, and we talked about video games and became friends instantly. Samir, you will be missed, and you will live on forever in our hearts. Some people touch your life for one moment and disappear the next. Samir, for as long as I've ever known you, you were always a soldier to me. Your overwhelming positive attitude and your kindness and spirit never faded away despite the challenges you had to bear. You are one of the strongest people I have or ever will have known; it'...s simply so amazing how you could keep fighting and fighting, as if nothing could stop you. I remember the day we came to visit you in the hospital, played COD for hours on end as if we were just sitting in a living room playing like good old friends. But the least I can call you is a friend. You, Samir, are a brother, a mentor - an inspiration, to all of us.

You are the strongest person I have ever known. From the moment I walked in to visit you when I was a volunteer at Kaiser, I automatically knew that you were special to me. I remember the times when we talked about how much we enjoy watching the NBA and how much we love the Lakers. Those little moments with you will always stay with me. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers! May you rest in peace and lay with all the angels in heaven.

I've come to realize we take many things granted in life. We should never worry or fret upon the unfortunate things that have come to past, but instead must will on, and smile, with an optimism and perseverance to see past the hardships. Samir, you are, were, and will be that person to me. You are my definition of a warrior, resilient... and fearless in the face of hardship. For all my life I've looked up to you and wished I could be as brave as you. I can still remember the first days we met, playing Super Nintendo, basketball, and living our life to the fullest. Those were some of the greatest, most memorable days of my life. I know now you are in a much better place, and I will forever hold you in my heart, because you are my sole inspiration to "keep on". I know not where my life will take me, but the next time I finally get to see you, I know we will have a lot of catching up to do. Until then, Rest In Peace Samir Pendse, my friend, my hope, my brother.

Samir, I've known you for 11 years, and NOT ONCE in those 11 years, did you stop showing your kindness and ability to persevere. You have been, are, and always will be the strongest person I know. You showed such elation toward life, no matter how cruel it was to you; it's an amazement. You are a source of inspiration for me, being a good friend through thick and thin. You will be truly missed Samir. May you rest in peace.

Forest Park isn't going to be the same without seeing you around there anymore =/ I wish I could've known you even longer, you are an amazing individual to have to go through what you have, and still come outside so often and make the best of your time making friends and having fun. You've earned the admiration and respect of countless friends. Rest in peace.

Your courage and bravery is an inspiration to me. For someone who had such an enthusiasm to live and enjoy life, life was unfairly taken from you far too early. You are a credit to our family. You have a very special place in all our hearts as a loving young man who was so fond of his family and friends. Life will not be the same without you
Rest in peace
