So sad to hear of his loss, I had lost touch with Sammy after he left CA. I worked remotely with him from California. But occasionally, I had a chance to visit him on business trips to the Dallas office. He was always helpful, cordial and kind, taking pains to guide and entertain out-of-town employees. He was very dedicated to him work. I'll always miss him.

My sincere condolences to Sammy´s family and friends.
I didn´t know him personally, but I graduated HS with his brother Jimmy and my brother was best friends with Eugene. They became friends in HS & graduated together. Eugene was my brother´s Best Man when he married in January 1970. I believe the entire family was a very loving family, devoted to one another.
My your loved one rest in peace in the presence of our Lord.

Sammy was certainly the most kind, generous, and loving son, brother, and uncle who was always there to help out and gave his all to work and his family. He loved you Lisa with all his heart. You were the light of his life. Sammy was always into looking up information regarding our heritage and ancestors. He was a big bingo player for many years and loved sharing this interest in his pastime, making a lot of friends along the way. He also loved Dave and Busters, a family entertainment venue, as he introduced this to a number of nieces and nephews. He made sure those he loved were taken care of. He has now been called to do even more for us, and continues to watch over us until we meet again. Sammy's legacy lives on for those who know him, an honorable man who is truly missed.
A poem I created in memory of Sammy:
Sammy, a kind, loving, generous soul who gave to others freely,
A leader who taught others to be like him,
To give with an open heart and without expectation,
For with the good in heart, love and devotion is a gift to share.
With all those who honor and remember him,
His legacy lives on as we honor Sammy and who he was.

I met Sammy in 1988. He was always full of smiles and positive attitudes. It was a pleasure working with him at CA. He always had a good thing to say about everyone around him and had an infectious smile. He and his smile has been missed. Go and smile with God.

I met Sammy when I went to work at University Computing Company ( UCC ) at 1930 Hiline Drive in Dallas back in 1977. He was working in the UNIVAC Operations group. Sammy and I became friends there and throughout our careers at UCCEL, Computer Associates and CA Technology. I remember he´d always bring in Chicken and Rice for everyone at work, and everyone loved it. I remember Patty and I attending his wedding with Lisa and how beautiful it was. We lost track of him when he left CA until now. We are so very sorry for his loss. He was a very good man and brilliant technician and loving husband. He will truly be missed. Rest in peace Sammy. We love you !

I was sorry to hear about the death of Sammy. My thoughts and prayers go out to Lisa and his Family. I worked at Computer Associates with Sammy for years. He was a dedicated, hard working person who loved his Family. We had a lot of laughs and good times. He will be missed.
