Samuel Carroll Cook

Funeral services for Samuel Carroll Cook, 36, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, September 16, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clayton McClendon officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan. Mr. Cook was born November 4, 1970 in Lufkin, Texas, to Donnie Sue (Chandler) and Donald R. Cook, and died Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Cook was a painter for Slaughter and Son, and attended Clawson Assembly of God Church. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and enjoyed fishing, painting and decorating. Mr. Cook loved doing things for other people. Survivors include his wife, Dayana Cook of Dixon, Missouri; son, Nathaniel Ray Cook of Lufkin; daughters, Vanessa A. Miholic of Dixon, Missouri, Cierra N. Cook, Jessica M. Cook, both of Lufkin, and Breanna N. Miholic of Dixon, Missouri; father and stepmother, Donald R. and Ruby Cook of Pollok; mother and stepfather, Donna Sue Chandler and Cliff Uyeno of Milliani, Hawaii; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra Jean Cook and Randall Havard of Lufkin and Sharon and Pedro Nieves of Lufkin; sister, Billie Jean Silva of Milliani, Hawaii; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jamie and Rebeca Nofsinger of Lufkin and John and Cindy Degner of Holmen, Wisconsin; sister, Krista Degner and Phil Hamilton of Sparta, Wisconsin; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leo and Lois Cook; and maternal grandparents, Elaine Goff and Jim Chandler. Pallbearers will be Jaime Nofsinger, Pedro Nieves, Nathaniel Ray Cook, Daniel Brookshire, Christian Cook and Randall Havard. Honorary pallbearer will be A.T. Tolar. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Dayana Cook, 15945 Crumpet Dr., Dixon, Missouri 65459.
