Dave: Your dad (and mom) raised quite a fine man who became not only a Michigan State Trooper, but also elevated to the rank of Inspector, in addition to becoming an attorney. Your dad should be proud of his legacy making those accomplishments and this is a reflection of what a wonderful family you came from.
Our prayers are with you during this sad time.
Inspector Gene Adamczyk, MSP ret.

I have fond memories growing up with you all and think of you often. I am sorry that I was not at visitation; did not hear until earlier tonight. He was a great man and I'm sure a great dad (just as you, Elsie, are a wonderful woman!) We are all so blessed to have had him in our lives. Prayers and hugs for all of you.

Dear Elsie and family, my sympathy and prayers are with you and your family. Many of my best memories growing up were at Meadowlark Farm with John and your family. You and Sam always made me feel so welcome and part of the family. You and Sam's love for God and His creation, and for your children was such an inspiration to me. I always enjoyed my quick visits with you and Sam when work took me near the farm. May God comfort and strengthen you and your family in the coming days.

It's been more than 50 years since I was in a class of Mr. Greydanus at HCHS,but I remember a warm and caring man who tried hard to get students to probe, dig and use their brains to think about government and politics. In his quiet, understated way, he was a wonderful teacher. (And I enjoyed his letters to the editor over the years, too.) - Mark Wagenveld

Dave, Sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I cannot imagine what you father saw and went through during his time in WWII but I am thankful that he was there along with the many, many other veterans to keep us free. As a Christian and leader in his church he touched the hearts and minds of many individuals. I pray that the Good Lord is holding him close and that He holds you and your family close during this difficult time.

Dave: I never met your father, and from reading of his life, it was my loss. I know you will miss him, but I see where you recieved your ability to lead and teach. We are sorry for your loss, but God is always good! Taking your father to Heaven is a blessing and the reunion you will have some day will be worth the wait!

My sympathy to the Greydanus family. Professor Greydanus introduced me to history at Holland Christian High School and his class laid the foundation for my later studies in history at Calvin. I can still hear him talk about the "idiot mind". He was a role model and the quintessential Calvin College Alum who thinks deeply, acts justly and lives wholeheartedly as Christ's agent of renewal in this world.

My condolences to all of you and Elsie. I have many fond memories of Sam and his great sense of humour, banter and kindness. In 1982 he helped me write a paper about the 2nd World War, a war both Sam and my father fought in to liberate our countries as well as free the camps. He'll always be in my heart .

I have often thought of Mr. Greydanus....he was my first male teacher at Oakdale Christian School (I graduated from there in 1957). Even as a young student, I valued his dignified, scholarly approach to our instruction and loved being in his class. Prayers to his family.

We enjoyed many wonderful memories with Sam, Elsie, and the Greydanus family at Meadowlark Farm in Saugatuck. Sam and Elsie always made us feel like family and we are grateful for their friendship and love.
We have learned to be better educators because of Sams passion and influence. We pray for peace and comfort for the family as we celebrate a wonderful servant of God.
