Samuel A. Jones

Samuel A. "Sam" Jones, 78, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at home after a lengthy illness. Sam was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Kristie; and two stepsons, Rick and Lonnie Garrison. He is survived by his wife, Pat; daughter, Deiana (Phil) Morgan of Canon City; son, Sam (Andrea) Jones of Weddington, N.C.; stepddaughters, Kathy Eikenberg of Eads, Colo., and Debbie (Dave) Carter of Holdenville, Okla.; and stepdaughter-in-law, Linda Garrison of Eldora, Iowa. He also is survived by 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Sam was a deacon in the Baptist church for many years and attended Heritage Baptist Church under Pastor Chuck Bigler. Through all his illness, he maintained his faith in God, that he would be healed, and he found his physical healing on Sunday evening when he entered God's realm. At his request, Sam was cremated and a graveside memorial service will be held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 2017, in Eads, Colo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heritage Baptist Church Missions, 2122 Overton Rd., Pueblo, CO 81008, in Sam's memory.
