Samuel Landy

Samuel Robert Landy, born December 20, 2002, died accidentally on March 20, 2016, while on vacation in Mexico with his family. Samuel was in seventh grade at the Isaac Newton Middle School in Centennial, CO. He had many interests including soccer, basketball, bowling, yoga, video games and spending time outdoors. Sam loved being with his family, teachers and friends, and was happiest in the company of his service dog, Sonny. Samuel previously lived in Mansfield, MA and loved spending his summer vacations at the beach in Charlestown, RI. Samuel is survived by his parents, Barbara and David Landy and his beloved sister, Ali. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Susan and Wilfred Schwarz of Andover, MA and his paternal grandmother, Marsha Landy of West Warwick, RI. Samuel was loved by his aunts and uncles; Dianne and Kevin McCarthy of Hampstead, NH; Kathryn Schwarz and Katie Crawford of Nashville, TN; Linda and Tom Landy of Narragansett, RI; and Patty and Michael Landy of Warwick, RI. He will be greatly missed by many loving cousins. A service honoring Samuel's life will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 3:30 PM at Greenwood Community Church, 5600 E Belleview Ave, Greenwood Village, CO. An additional service will be held later in Rhode Island. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Autism Speaks (www.autismspeaks.org) or 4 Paws For Ability (4pawsforability.org)
