Samuel Lord

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Samuel Claude Lord, who departed this world on June 21, 2023, at the age of 58. Born on December 30, 1964, in Huntington, West Virginia, Sam was the son of Rebecca and Richard Lord.

Sam attended Worthington High School and later pursued higher education at Columbus State. He went on to become a Sales Manager at Glockner Oil Company, where he was known for his exceptional work ethic and dedication to his job.

In his free time, Sam enjoyed traveling to new places, biking, golfing, camping, and boating. He had a love for adventure and was always up for trying new things.

Sam was a beloved husband to Laura Lord and a wonderful father to his children Justin (Alison), Samantha, and Jamie. He was also a cherished brother to Connie Lord Lynch (Bob), Mike Lord (Betsy), Bob Klumpp, Stephanie Neal (Jean), and a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews, Lyle (Ari) Katie (Ryan) Nick (Andrea) Suzanne (Ben) Megan (Curtis) Rebecca, and Sam, as well as his great-nieces Karlie, Kylie, and Layla. He was a loving stepfather to Jessica Willis (Zack), Peter Clark (Shannon) and Eric Clark ( Samantha) and Grandpa to Zack and Malachi Willis.

Sam was a kind and selfless person who touched the lives of everyone he met. He never knew a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a quick wit and silly humor that never failed to make someone laugh or smile.

Sam passed away peacefully at his home in Dunedin, Florida, surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Lord, father, Richard Lord, stepmom, Pat Lord, brother, RL Lord, and grandparents.

A celebration of life will be held in honor of Sam on Sunday July 9th from 4-6pm at Jackie O's on Fourth, 171 North 4th street, Columbus OH 43215. Sam will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. We will carry with us his warmth, kindness, selflessness, light and love.
