Samuel Stoltzfus Obituary

Samuel P. Stoltzfus, 65, of 54 Poplar St., Gordonville, entered into rest on Saturday.

Born Dec. 22, 1944, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Emma Stoltzfus.

He was married for 45 years to Hannah Stoltzfoos Stoltzfus.

He was a member of the Weavertown Amish Mennonite Church, Bird-in-Hand.

He served in the ministry for 31 years at various locations.

Sam was the former owner of Stoltzfus Welding, Pine Grove. A welder for 37 years, his death was due to a head injury resulting from an accident in 2003.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Samuel, married to Delilah Hochstetler Stoltzfus, Bloomfield, N.M., Elvin, married to Dorcas Hochstetler Stoltzfus, Farmington, N.M., and Jada, married to Naomi Stoltzfus Stoltzfus, Narvon; three daughters, Susanna Stoltzfus, White, Ga., Katrina, married to Anthony Weaver, Jonestown, and Rosa, at home; 16 grandchildren; four brothers, Mose, husband of Rhoda Zook Stoltzfus, Denver, Pa., Sylvan, husband of Mary Stoltzfus Stoltzfus, Cherry Tree, Leon, husband of Wilma Hostetler Stoltzfus, Summersville, Mo., and Alvin, husband of Leona Shetler Stoltzfus, Augusta, W.Va.; four sisters, Rachel, wife of John Lapp, McVeytown, Sadie, wife of Jess Stoltzfus, Phoenix, Ariz., Ruth, wife of Marvin Stoltzfus, Leola, and Verna, wife of Melvin Beiler, Munnsville, N.Y.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from Weavertown Amish Mennonite Church, 2900 Church Road, Bird-in-Hand. The viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. Memorials are welcomed to Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
