Samuel Wilson Young, Jr

Samuel W. Young Jr, passed away on July 23, 2022 surrounded by family after a brief battle with lung cancer.

Samuel was born on May, 3 1954, and grew up in Delanco NJ. He was the oldest of 5 children, and graduated from Riverside High School, class of 1972. He loved music and played in many bands from high school through his early 20's. Afterwards he settled down in Browns Mills with his wife and two daughters. Samuel then went on to become a successful welder, foreman, and later project manager until he retired in 2019.

He was predeceased by his father Samuel W. Young Sr.; his brother Karl and nephew William. Survivors include his mother, Dorothy S. Young; his wife Roberta K. Young; his daughters Michelle Bates (Chris) and Lisa Hendy; his sisters Lisa Dutto (Bart); Deborah Shedaker (Ken) Dorothy Goff (Stanley); two grandsons; nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held on August 6, 2022 at Dobbins United Methodist Church, 330 Union Ave, Delanco, NJ 08075. Visiting hours with family will be held from 9am to 11am, immediately followed by Memorial services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
