Paul S. "Smiley" Fells

YORK Paul S. "Smiley" Fells, 82, passed away November 18, 2014, at York Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Truman I. Fells, Sr. and Edna C. (Nolden) Fells; children, Jerome "Jerry", Michael Sr., and Elaine Fells; grandson, Michael Fells, Jr.; siblings, Bernice Pitts, Ethel Fells, Geraldine Jackson, Helen Scott, Robert, Richard and Truman Fells, Jr. Upon his graduation from New Freedom High School, Class of 1951, he served honorably in the U.S. Army and retired after 32 years of service from Caterpillar. He was a former member of Fawn Grove A.M.E. Zion Church and currently a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, York. His pastimes included Nascar races, football, western movies, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with the former "Wheels of Peace Motorcycle Club," and spending time with his family. He leaves to remember and honor his legacy, companion, Almatha Bonner of York; loving sister, Clara T. Wilson of Harrisburg; son, Danny Embrey (Sue); devoted daughter-in-law, Debra Fells, all of York; special grandson, Antoine (Omar) Fells whom he raised as a son, of Clearwater, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Fell's life will be celebrated Saturday, November 29, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 474 S. Pershing Ave., York, with viewing 10 to 11 a.m., followed by service at 11 a.m. and interment at Fawn Grove A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery, New Park.
