SANDRA M. (SANDS)
Age 76, of Upper St. Clair, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2015. Born on September 22, 1938, in Pittsburgh, she is the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Sands. Beloved wife of 55 years to James M. Elias; cherished mother of Elizabeth (Alan) Wilkinson and Kristen (Stephen) Pakela; proud grandma of Alex, Erin, Evan, Jimmy, and Colin; sister of Maureen (Walter) Schaltenbrand and Joseph (Arlene) Sands; sister-in-law and aunt. Sandy enjoyed summer vacations in Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio with her grandchildren and cherished Christmas celebrations with her extended family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Clair Hospital Cardiac Rehab and Wellness at 1000 Bower Hill Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15243 in Sandy's memory. Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at CREMATION & FUNERAL CARE, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260-5546. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Capistran Catholic Church, 1610 McMillan Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241, with Rev. James J. Chepponis, officiating. Burial will be private in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray. Please view and sign the family's online guestbook at:

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always. A little piece of the family isn't missing because Sandy is still in our hearts. We do miss your laughter and enthusiastem especially at Christmas time. Sandy, you are an angel now and we ask you to watch over your family and relatives. Until we see you again in God's Heaven.
