Dear family of Sandra Farrow,

I graduated from Montoursville High School in 1999 and have fond memories of Sandra, or Mrs. Swisher, as I knew her. Because of the sporadic contact that school nurses have with students, most school nurses do not have the opportunity to forge strong relationships with students, like teachers are able to do. Such was not the case with Sandy and me. I went through a rough period my last year of high school, and Sandra was instrumental in helping me cope. I would often leave my study halls to go down to her office to talk. Sandra was always so positive, optimistic and helpful to me, despite dealing with her own struggles (which she graciously shared with me so that I did not feel alone in my own). She always made me laugh and feel better about my own challenges.
Upon graduating high school, I kept in contact with her for a few short years. Several times we met for lunch, where we would catch up and converse and laugh like we did in high school. Unfortunately, I lost contact when I had moved out of the area.
I now am a teacher at Montoursville High School, and I discovered Sandra's passing via an e-mail that a colleague had sent to the school. I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing, but at the same time I feel joy in remembering her and the impact that she had on me. I will always remember her for her kindness, optimism, and the beauty that she gave to my life during unpleasant times. I pray that she rest in peace.

Love, Alex Mazzante
