Sandra Gerard Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 23, 2025.
Sandra Suzette Gerard, affectionately known as Sandy, passed into the arms of the Lord on September 7, 2025, while in hospice care in Denver, Colorado. She was 60 years old.

Born on October 24, 1964, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Sandy was the second daughter of Wayne and JoAnne Norris. She spent her formative years in the Vista Grande and Village Seven neighborhoods, where she developed deep roots within the community that would remain central to her life. A proud graduate of Thomas B. Doherty High School's Class of 1982, Sandy carried with her a strong sense of hometown pride and connection throughout her life.

In 1984, Sandy married her first husband, Noel Jenkins, in Colorado Springs. Together they welcomed two sons, Brian and Shawn. Later in life, she found love again with her second husband Mike. The couple married in 1997 during a memorable Denver Broncos game in Denver-a joyful celebration that reflected Sandy's vibrant spirit-and together they had one child, Mathias.

Sandy's professional journey was defined by compassion and service. She dedicated many years to working at the ARC of the Pikes Peak Region, where she not only contributed meaningfully to the organization's mission but also formed enduring friendships with coworkers who became like family. Her work left a lasting impression on those around her and reflected her unwavering commitment to advocacy and care for others.

She was preceded in death by her parents Wayne and JoAnne Norris; her older sister Cynthia French; and her son Shawn. Her memory is cherished by her surviving children Brian and Mathias; beloved nephews Matthew and Chris French; brother-in-law Kevin French; granddaughter; grand-nieces; and many dear friends and colleagues whose lives were touched by her warmth.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 5, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Manitou Springs City Hall, located at 606 Manitou Blvd., Manitou Springs, Colorado. Guests are invited to honor Sandy's colorful spirit by wearing tie-dye attire.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Sandra's honor to a charity of your choice supporting mental health initiatives or efforts to combat drug and alcohol addiction.

May Sandra's memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 5, 2025 at Manitou Springs City Hall 606 Manitou Blvd
