Sandra S. Lewis, age 69, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Monday, February 25, 2013, at St. Anne Mercy Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 14, 1943, to Glenn and Thelma (Boerst) Weiland in Toledo. She was a 1962 graduate of DeVilbiss High School. Sandra worked as a nurses' aide for many years before retiring at the Toledo Mental Health Center, now known as Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital. She was a longtime member of St. James Lutheran Church and the St. James Lutheran Seniors and was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Sandra enjoyed playing bingo, Wii bowling and doing crosswords. She loved animals especially cats. Sandra loved the time spent with her family; she will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Bill Campbell, Sr. and former spouse, John Lewis. Sandra is survived by her loving daughter, Michelle McCormick; grandson, Mason; sister, Glenna (Lou Menke) Campbell; aunt and uncle, Harriet (Ronald) Boerst; special niece, Patty Campbell; special nephew, Bill Campbell Jr.; special great-niece, Katie Campbell, and special great-nephew, Kyle Campbell.

The family will receive guests on Friday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

Those wishing to make monetary donations are asked to consider St. James Lutheran Church, the American Kidney Foundation or the American Cancer Society.

I remember the first day you arrived at Heartland, I was your aide and I took care of you...you said u felt comfortable from the moment you seen me. I always made sure you were taking care of. You brought joy to our facility....so heart warming and always smiled :)....In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.
