Sandy, had the most wonderful smile and laugh. She was positive, sensitive and perceptive. When she needed to be strong and firm, Sandy knew how to tackle difficult situations. I am most fortunate to have known and worked with her when I was director of the Carnegie Mellon Art Gallery. I oft thought of her as my additional right arm. Sandy, you may no longer be on this earth but you are always in my memory and heart. Miss you Lady!!!

Sandra was such an amazing help to my mother, Betty Jean Williams and the Martin Luther King Jr Reading Room.
Sandra and Ron did everything possible to add support to the center. After the MLK closed, I was lucky enough to see Sandra & Ron at the PH YMCA. She is very missed in this world!

One of the classiest persons I ever dealt with at Carnegie Mellon. A straight-shooter who could deliver biting sarcasm with a smile. Loved her! RIP Sandy.

I was saddened to learn of the passing of Sandy. She and I worked together for 6 years at the Carnegie Mellon Art Gallery and she was the best! Always so positive, organized and full of life. I can still hear her laugh and her wonderful funny comments! She will be missed--one of those especially wonderful people that our world needs more of. My heart goes out to Ron and her family! I wish I had known this sooner because I would have come to Pittsburgh to say good bye to such a special lady!

I am so sorry for your loss. Sandra was a wonderful person.
We met through my late mother Betty Jean Williams. Sandra served on the Board of the MLK, JR Reading & Cultural Center.
She possessed intelligence and a caring, kind manner.
She also had a great sense of style!
Sandra Nevel will be greatly missed in this world.
Ron, you & your family are in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Muriel Leonard

I have such fond memories of our growing up on Inwood street and having the adventures of a lifetime. Too numerous to count but so vivid in my mind all these years later. Rest now dear Sandy. All is well.

My sincere condolences to all the family of Sandy Nevel. During my many years as an adjunct professor at CMU's Heinz School, I would frequently see Sandy staying late in her office as I came in to teach an evening class. She was a wonderful person, always ready to share a story and a laugh, and I so enjoyed our few minutes together. I was deeply sorry to hear of her passing. Please know that all of you are in our prayers.
