Sandra Briggs Norwood, age 65, of Russellville, Ala., died Monday, May 18, 2009. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Mike Colston will officiate, and burial will be in Guy Cemetery.

Mrs. Norwood was a member of the Church of Christ and was preceded in death by her parents, Berman Coker and Flora Vandiver, and her husband, Edward Norwood.

She is survived by her son, Shannon Briggs and wife, Kasonyia; daughter, Lee Ann Nichols and John Whithers; sister, Robin Lakey and husband, Eddie; grandchildren, Michael Briggs and wife, Casey, Elizabeth Briggs, Chandler Briggs, Randall Nichols, Karlee Nichols and Kortnee Nichols; one great-grandchild, Camden Lee Briggs; and nephew, Scott Lakey.

Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
