Sandy was the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Cooksey and Viola Mae Blalock Cooksey. She grew up in Dallas and graduated from North Dallas High School in 1962. Afterward, she settled in Plano, Texas, where she spent the majority of her life. Sandy always had a kind word and smile for me and others in our neighborhood. Stories of her fine family she told with love and pride warmed my heart. Knowing she was there was a comfort and a blessing. She is missed. We hold fast to the faith that assures us we shall meet again.

Sandy has been an important part of my life since our sons were in middle school. We have been through the ups and downs of daily life together. I could not have asked for a better friend who was more loving, more generous and so loyal. You are missed every day Sandy. I love you.

Sandy and I met when our sons were in Indian Guides and sports through YMCA in Kindergarten. We also share the same church family at CUMC. That friendship has continued some 40 years and included many baseball games, road trips, breakfasts after Sunday church, Christmas Eve services. Sandy always was there for me we talked daily till our health issues got in the way. She is missed. Rest in peace sweet friend till we meet again.

Sandy and I were back-door neighbors, and after meeting each other, we became friends. We raised our children near Jackson Elementary, and they have remained friends through the years as well. It was always comforting to have a such a nice person living so close for over 40 years! Phil and I will miss her.
