I´m so sorry to hear of Sandra´s passing. I knew Sandra from the Flying Fish days. I can still hear her lilting voice. Please, rest in peace.

Dear Anna, Jerry, and Eugene,
I met Sandra at a NAMI Chicago class in 2015. We were unlikely friends. I was a German History PhD student and Sandra, a Jewish American woman, who had made the conscious decision not to set foot on German soil during her travels in Europe in the 1970s. However, Sandra had plans to visit me and my mother in Germany during the summer of 2023 that fell through due to Sandra's family obligations. She had already had her plane tickets. Sandra was there for me when my fiancé passed away and agreed to accompany me to his Catholic funeral without batting an eye. I am beyond grateful to Chicago Jewish Funerals for providing a video of her funeral and memorial services on YouTube. The stories shared of Sandra during these services described the woman I knew and cared about incredibly well. Sandra was a force of nature and I won't forget her.

SHAINDEL......I am devastated to read this (today is Sept 6, just catching up on Chicago obits)...we were to speak this weekend. We have been caching up for about 3 hours monthly....always talking about our shared love of family...beginning with Steven, including your brothers, mom, your beloved Aunt Esther, Uncle, cousins...and, of course your most beloved and missed Bruce. I am typing thru tears....Shaindel....but comforted by the fact we never forgot to express our love for one another. Love you my smart, loving and honest "cousin"...Marcia DuMont-Beekil.
