Sandra Strom Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 22 to Feb. 24, 2023.
Sandra L. "Sandy" Strom, 75, Oconto, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 22, 2023 in Florida. She was born February 15, 1948 in Oconto Falls, WI to Leland and Viola (Rimple) Alsteen. On September 25, 1965 Sandy was united in marriage to Alvin "Butch" Strom at St. Charles Church in Lena, WI.

Together they raised four children, Lisa, Kevin, Todd and Jonathan all in their Oconto home.

Sandra served the community as a Respiratory Therapist at Oconto Memorial Hospital for many years. Sandy was known for her love of romance novels and her great cooking for everyone to enjoy. She did not slowdown in retirement; She spent most of her free time traveling with her family and during her time in Oconto, she spent it with her great- grandchildren, whom were her pride and joy. The well-deserved retirement gave Sandra and Alvin time to enjoy many winters in Florida where they could rummage, attend flea markets, and meet new friends.

Sandra will be dearly missed, she leaves behind her loving husband of 57 years, Alvin; sons: Kevin (Oconto), Todd (Norman, OK), and Jonathan (Cheryl) (Green Bay); her one and only grandchild: Mikayla (Jason) McDonald (Oconto); Great- Grandchildren: Kylee, Oaklee and Owen; Foster daughter: Tanya (Brain) Sheedy (Pulaski) and Children of Tanya: Lillyan and Skylynn, along with many other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was proceeded in death by her daughter, Lisa Strom-Meyer.

"A wife, a mother, a grandma too, this is the legacy we have from you."

To honor Sandra's wishes, there will be no funeral service. The family invites you to please privately celebrate Sandy in your own ways. We know that she will be with us all in spirit. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.

A celebration of her life will be held at later date.

So sorry to hear if Sandy's passing. Sandy taught me a lot about lung sounds and assessments when I first started out as an RN. She was always willing to share her knowledge. Your joy and your laughter will be missed by many. Rest in Peace my friend.
