Sandra Zawicki Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 16, 2025.
Sandra Lee Zawicki (Jenkins, Weisenberger), born in Cleveland, Ohio, passed peacefully on June 27, 2025, with loved ones by her side.

Sandy lost her father, Harold Jenkins, as a young girl, and her mother, Martha Jenkins, passed away in 2007. She graduated from St. Augustine Academy and married Gordon Weisenberger at the age of 21. Together, they raised five children, four boys and one girl, before Gordon's passing in 1990.

In 1997, she met and married her second husband, Leon Zawicki. It was a second chance at love for both, and Leon brought two adult children into Sandy's life: Beth Spratt and Keith Zawicki. Leon passed away in 2021. His son, Keith, passed in 2022, joining his father sailing in the sky.

A longtime resident of Westlake, Ohio, Sandy raised her family there and worked as a school cafeteria worker, a junior football cheerleader coach, and later as a secretary for the City of Westlake's Engineering Department, where she eventually retired.

Sandy found joy in the lanes as an avid bowler, earning many trophies in her local league. She also loved watching baseball, basketball, and football, a true sports fan who never missed a game. Later in life, she discovered a love for ballroom dancing, and she was the kind of mom who always turned the car radio up a little too loud and sang along without apology.

Life wasn't always easy, but Sandy was proud, resilient, and always kept going. Over the years, she was blessed with more sons and daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a handful of doodles, too. She remained close to lifelong friends and was known for her quiet kindness and strength.

In her final years, Sandy found peace knowing her children were safe. One of her greatest fears had never come to pass. That, she believed, was the greatest blessing of all.

Sandy is survived by her sons Dan Weisenberger (Cindy), Mike Weisenberger (Tracey), Doug Weisenberger (Christina), and Craig Weisenberger (Leslie); her daughters Lisa Beth Glover (Aaron) and Beth Spratt (Ron); and eight beautiful grandchildren and one cherished great-grandchild: Ashley (Brett), Jacob, Dylan, Kayla, Haden, Emma, Camiron Lee (Andrew), Jason, and little Emery Paige.

"Life passes before us... we drift in and out of the sea... and at the end, we rise with peaceful ease." We will always love you, Mom.
