I met Sandy 27 years ago through my mother. We instantly hit it off talking about his Porsche. A great guy, down-to-earth, kind and caring. Sandy found out that my father passed away because of glioblastoma the year before we met. Sandy took me out for a spin in his car and we constantly kept in touch while I was at University. He talked to me on days I was down, and always had comforting words. He came to my graduation, was the first to introduce me to martinis, the first to take me to dinner when I sold my first company and was the person who came with me to buy my first Porsche. His passing the past year has been hard to accept. Today I walked by his office and saw that they had removed his sign which really saddened me. After his passing, when I walked my dog and saw his sign - it brought me some comfort. I will miss you dearly Sandy!

I know this is a very late message but I wondered what happened to this incredible surgeon and wonderful man. I was a patient of his 15 years ago and still realize the benefit of his talent. He was a kind and attentive doctor who never pushed you into anything. He was honest and direct.
Debbie and other staff members were an amazing team lead by a great
leader.
I´m so sorry for the families loss.

We only just heard about Sandy and feel so saddened to think that he is no longer a part of our world. He was so modest about his great skills as a surgeon and such a lover of music and a fan of my husband Guido. We enjoyed many happy times together. His children were always of paramount importance to him. I can't imagine how much they must miss him.

I am saddened by the loss of Sandy....a skilled surgeon, but more importantly a talented musician and a devoted father. I knew Sandy since my high school years when he joined my brother Kim (drums) and Fred Herdman (Piano) in their "Highly Sought After" trio. I think they were performing at my cousins wedding in the photo.....which has been in my desk drawer...forever. I had occasion to catch up with him a few years ago and we shared a few laughs about the good old Kingsville days. My condolences to the Pritchard family. Rest in Peace!

I am very sorry to hear that Dr. Pritchard passed away earlier this month. I am a former patient from several years back. After I made unsuccessful visits to other medical professionals, Dr. Pritchard was able to diagnose, address, and treat some small growths on both upper eyelids. I greatly appreciate his kind demeanor and skill. My sincere condolences to all his family, friends and colleagues.

We were fortunate to meet the Pritchard family back in 1959, when we moved to Leamington. It was such a pleasure watching Sandy grow up and become super successful in everything he attempted.
When we moved to London, we continued to see Sandy often, while he attended Western. It was always so much fun having such a fine young man come to visit. He was a great guy and will be missed by many.
Our sincere condolences go out to Sandy’s children, his mother Nancy and sisters Jane and Brenda.

Four years ago I was chatting with Sandy at our high school reunion. He told me about his children of whom he was clearly proud and that he was clearly still happily engaged in his professional practice. Our conversation turned to school subjects, languages in particular including his love of learning Latin. This chance to revisit high school days with Sandy has taken on more meaning now. He has left this world too soon, but leaves us all a distinctive legacy. My condolences and also those from my Mom, Helen Preyde, are extended to his family, to Nancy, Sandy’s Mom, his children, grandchild and siblings. In thoughtful memory, Anne Preyde

I first met Sandy in Grade 9 when we were both in the same class (Grade 9A1) at Leamington District Secondary School. One time, I didn't know why our high school principal came into one our Grade 9 classes and spoke directly with Sandy. Our principal, J.N. Hume, was Sandy's uncle! Over the course of 5 years of high school, Sandy and I got to know each other quite well. We would call each other on a regular basis to check on each other's math work and I was the manager on the junior and senior basketball teams that Sandy played on. Sandy always strived for excellence and raised the bar for all of us. We were proud of his achievements after high school and considered him to be one of our very best graduates of the Class of 1972. I last saw Sandy at our 45th high school reunion since he would regularly come home to Leamington to visit his mom. It was great to re-connect with him once again. He will be missed. Our deepest condolences to his mom, sisters and his children and grandchild.

Sandy and I attended LDSS from 1967 to 1972. He was a brilliant student and a gifted athlete. I fondly remember my Grade 13 tennis match with Sandy; I lost the game, but he was a gracious victor. Sandy was not only my employer, he was also my friend. I spent many years working with him, first as his scrub nurse then as the head nurse. Logan, Hunter, Madison and Baylie, your dad left you some wonderful memories. May those help with your healing as well.

My deepest sympathies go out to Dr. Pritchard's family, colleagues and friends. What a great loss, and far too soon. Dr Pritchard was an artist with a scalpel, and had a gentle wit and charm to match. They say 'the good die young' - and in Sandy's case, it is all too true. May he enjoy endless rounds of golf in the next realm, and be ready to give me that second facelift when I finally reach the Pearly Gates myself.

Dear Nancy, Jane, Brenda, Logan, Hunter, Madison, Baylie, and grandson Rowan:
My heart is heavy with the news of the passing of my dear friend, Sandy.
High school memories are full of special reminiscences, and I find myself recalling the many times he brought joy and inspiration to myself and my classmates.
Sandy embraced life with joy and purpose, whether it was a school project, a musical performance, or supporting the LDSS basketball team on the court.
Fortunately for myself and my friend Karen Otton, Sandy agreed to tutor both of us in the dreaded subject of mathematics. Every week, he would dutifully come to my home where the three of us engaged in some fairly intense studying and an attempt at concentrating on the mysterious world of algorithms and geometry.
Sandy had a gift for teaching, and I am grateful that he made math understandable, but I think my mother's steady supply of Oreo cookies made the tutoring session a little more enjoyable for him. In later years, he would remind me how much he enjoyed those cookies. But those weekly sessions also involved some memorable music sessions. My parents' bulky cabinet stereo would be called in to play our latest discoveries in the world of music. Karen introduced us both to Joni Mitchell and James Taylor. As we listened to each new album, we would savour the music and the poetry, benefitting from Sandy's insight and knowledge of the songwriter's craft.
The first time that he sat down at my parents' old upright piano, he displayed such mastery of the keyboard that I was awestruck. Never before had I watched someone play the piano that way. There was joy in his soul, as he made that old piano vibrate with an energy I never knew it possessed. It was the first time I had ever seen a pianist play an improvisational jazz riff, and it was beautiful.
Working in the medical field in Toronto years ago, I often crossed paths with Sandy's surgical colleagues or grateful patients who had benefitted from his skill. I was always proud to say that he was an old classmate and friend. It was no surprise at all that his patients benefitted from his surgical skills and quest for perfection.
Sandy has left us all too early, and the world is lesser for the loss, but no one gave more to life, or set an example of how to live with a sense of joy and purpose. I am grateful for these lessons.
And despite all these gifts, I would note that Sandy was always kind. I benefitted from his brotherly advice on several occasions, and those generous car rides to exams in his mother's sweet red convertible.
You will be missed by many, my friend. I think I speak for many of my LDSS classmates when I say that you made our lives richer, and set the bar just a bit higher for each of us.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Lori (Brown) Lachowski

I met Sandy in 1973, through his sister, Jane. It was always a joy to be in his company at family dinners and Christmas singalongs at the piano. My sister Sue and I were saddened to learn of the recent passing of Dr. Sandy Pritchard. We attended Leamington District Secondary School 1971-72 for grade 13 when Sandy was also in his final year of high school. It was clearly evident that he was an exceptional student and athlete. Sue recalls competing with him in Calculus class although admitted that he likely beat her on most tests. My recollection was the summer of 1972 when I worked as a lifeguard at Point Pelee National Park along with Sandy and a dozen other lifeguards. Following graduation, we all went our separate ways, pursuing different careers. Sue and I did learn of Sandy’s success as a plastic surgeon through the national media. We were both happy that he was able to join our grade 13 forty-five year class reunion in October 2017. He still appeared as fit as ever and enjoyed the camaraderie of his former classmates. We extend our sincere condolences to his mother, sisters, children and grandson. Truly a remarkable man who left this world too early.

My sincerest condolences to you, Nancy, and to Jane and Brenda, and to all of your beautiful grandchildren.
The tragic news of Sandy’s passing saddens the hearts of many.
Sandy spared little energy, using his many gifts to brighten our world. A devoted son, father, friend, and surgeon, he generously shared his remarkable skills, talents, and intellect to foster and enhance the lives of others.
During the past few days, as I receive messages and calls from former classmates, who also feel his loss, the magnitude of Sandy’s influence continues to be validated. While attending LDSS, Sandy set the bar high, showing a dedication for learning that inspired an environment of academic success - a most treasured gift for both teachers and students of our class of ‘72.
Thinking of you,

It was an honor and a privilege to work alongside Dr. Pritchard (Sandy) as his patient consultant for 25 years.
He was a brilliant surgeon/artist, and his mission was to improve the lives of his patients and he succeeded in this greatly. He was renowned for his exceptional skill set and ability to maintain each patient’s unique likeness and sense of self. He truly cared for them and wished to make them happy.
It was so clear that he loved his children dearly and was so proud of them all - Logan, Hunter, Madison, and Baylie. They were his passion and his motivation. He was a wonderful father!
Dr. Pritchard, you certainly made your mark on this earth, on me personally as a friend and employee, and as a mentor to many a colleague while you were with us - and will continue to be an inspiration and aspiration for those of us who remain.
You were the best of the best - as a father and as a professional.
You will be truly missed .may you Rest In Peace. Love Margot xx

I am deeply saddened to hear of Sandy’s passing. He was a wonderful, kind doctor and person. He came to our cottage once and did two things that stuck with me 1. He helped me get help for one of my children who had a strange swollen finger. He took the time to look at it, tell me what I had been told was unlikely and he referred us to a colleague that resolved the problem. 2. He took the time to send a Thank you note and in that note recaptured several moments from the weekend together and even included some antidotes about the multiple canines on the island. We called him once in an emergency situation and despite having not seen or speaking to each other for years, he promptly saw us and helped us before his patients the next day. It is a terrible loss for the family to loose such a great one so young. I send all your hearts my thoughts. You are not alone in this pain.

I met Sandy for the first time in 2008, when Baylie and I became friends in middle school. Sandy always greeted me at the door with the warmest welcome smile, and the biggest hug. He always made you feel like you were apart of their family when you were over at their house. He wasn't just the "cool Dad" in our teenage years, he was a man that we all looked up to as a role model. A role model not only for his many accomplishments in life, but because he had the most caring, genuine soul and always put his kids first. Many people will agree that he was so unbelievably proud of his four kids. My heart is so heavy for all of the Pritchard family, but these memories and stories will help his incredible, one of a kind spirit live on forever. All my love and hugs to the Pritchard family through this very difficult time. Rest in peace Sandy.

Sandy and I met when I was in Grade 1. He and my brother and I have enjoyed a long friendship few are lucky enough to experience. The bond is strong as my mother and Nancy shared a room in the maternity ward in Leamington District Memorial Hospital as they delivered their boys just days apart.
Sharing a love of sports and music over the years was central to our friendship. We were lifeguards at Point Pelee when Sandy was the head of that program and I was also delighted to enjoy a visit from him when I moved to Los Angeles. Seeing him sitting in the club where I was singing was such a treat and I’ll hold that memory close to my heart always.
Sometimes distance impeded regular contact but we managed to maintain what has always been a treasured relationship and spoke whenever the opportunity arose.
Processing this loss is something that is going to take time as disbelief is all I feel presently.
I am in mind of a James Taylor lyric “I always thought that I’d see you again”
Hopefully one day, I will.
Dearest Nancy, Jane, Brenda and Sandy’s kids, my heart is breaking for you and our family is here for you..always.

Dear Logan, Hunter, Madison & Bailey,
I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I cannot imagine how devastating this is to all of you. I know you meant the world to him as I had first hand experience when I worked for him as to how much he adored & cherished his family. No matter what was happening in his hectic day his priorities would always be his children . Besides being a phenomenal surgeon he was a wonderful kind, funny man. Always a gentleman to myself and his staff. I remember having our morning chat as he ate his breakfast and it he’d always ended up talking about one of his children, praising his or her accomplishments and talent. I learned a lot about professionalism from your dad and cherish the times I was in his presence. He made so many people feel better about themselves with his brilliant skills as he transformed so many lives. He will be truly missed by so many. Rest In Peace Sandy.

When I come to the end of the road And the sun has set for me I want no rites in a gloom filled room Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not for long And not with your head bowed low Remember the love that once we shared Miss me, but let me go.
For this is a journey we all must take And each must go alone.
It's all part of the master plan A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick at heart Go to the friends we know.
Laugh at all the things we used to do Miss me, but let me go.
