Mr. Howard Earl Short

SHORT, Howard E. age 91, was born August 10, 1915 in Seguin, Texas and passed away June 27, 2007 in Lancaster. Howard retired from the US Air Force after 28yrs of service at the rank of Colonel. He was a pilot in the Air Force, and flew the B26 Bomber during WWII, Korean, and Vietnam Wars. Due to a shortage in pilots in WWII for the Royal Canadian Air Force, he was loaned to them and proudly served. Howard loved to build and fly remote controlled Gliders, and was a member of High Fly Club, Soaring Glider Club, and a go-cart club. He is survived by one brother, Charles Leroy Short of Texas; two nieces, Sally Moss of Texas, Kathleen and her husband Michael Basile of Lancaster; three grand nieces and two grand nephews, Lindsey and Christy Moss, Kyle Krystal, and Destiny Basile. Many friends and flying partners; Joseph Cenelli, Bob Sumoski, June Coleman, and Emilo Charon also survive him.
