Sara Jane Johnson, 57, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 2:24 A.M., Thursday April 26, 2012, at her home. She was born November 30, 1954, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Samuel Henry and Eileen Mae (Beshears) Potter. She married Clark Johnson on March 5, 1977 at the United Methodist Church in Rossville, IL. He survives in Hoopeston. She is also survived by one daughter, Samantha Jane Johnson of Champaign, IL; one son, Russell Adam (Jennifer) Johnson of Lockport, IL; three brothers, Charles (Ann) Potter of Henry, TN, Craig (Debbie) Potter of Alvin, IL and Clark (Jacqueline) Potter of Alvin, IL, many nieces and nephews and one special cousin Chris Potter. She is preceded in death by her parents. Sara was the owner and operator of Farming with Flowers Greenhouse in Hoopeston. She was also a former night manager at the Hoopeston IGA and former Home Economics teacher at Rankin High School. She was a member of the Hoopeston United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women Evening Circle. Sara was a former Hoopeston Area School board member, a past Girl Scout leader and was also a judge at several county fairs. She also belonged to the Master Gardeners Club and the Home Extension of Vermilion County. Sara's passion was helping her family with the family farm, taking on many roles; working with her flowers in her greenhouse and yard and lending a helping hand to anyone who needed her. Her greatest enjoyment was her family. Sara will be sadly missed by all whom had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
