Sarah Berry Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 27, 2024.
Sarah Elizabeth Berry, born on May 22, 1960, in Evansville, Indiana, was lovingly adopted by William and Mary Jo Schlimmer. She peacefully went to be with the Lord on November 25, 2024, at Deaconess Gateway in Newburgh, Indiana, surrounded by her family.

Sarah graduated from Harrison High School in Evansville in 1979, where she was an active member of the swimming teams and managed the girls' basketball team. She pursued higher education at Southern Seminary College in Buena Vista, Virginia. During her time there, she met Nathaniel Moore II, with whom she had one child. Later, she married Brad Berry of Evansville and together had one son, Joseph Berry. She later met Joseph Faulk of Evansville and had one son, Brandon Berry.

Throughout her life, Sarah held various jobs, most notably as a dedicated home health aide and at the TJ Maxx distribution center in Evansville. Her passions included arts and crafts, parrots, traveling to Florida, and spending time outdoors with friends and family. She also loved anything purple. A devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Indianapolis Colts, and Indiana Hoosiers, she cherished attending Hoosier football games with her parents during her younger years.

Sarah's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, whose grandchildren and great-grandchild were the center of her world. Known for her radiant spirit, Sarah had a unique ability to brighten any room and uplift those around her, never allowing life's challenges to define her. She always exuded happiness with everything she did.

Preceded in death by her parents and beloved granddaughter Nora Rose Berry, Sarah is survived by her children, Brandon (Marissa) Berry of Evansville, IN and Joseph (Kendall) Berry of Monroe City, IN and her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchild. Grandchildren include Wesley Berry, Reese Berry, Ashton Berry, Macie Berry, Remington Berry, Chloe Berry, Logan Day and Eli Day. Her great grandchild includes Lainey Berry.

Sarah resided at North River Health Campus in Evansville, where she was considered family by the staff. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to North River for their compassionate care. She has a special place in her heart for each of the staff members there. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. No services are planned at this time.
