Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Coletrain Matthews will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 2004, at Olive Grove Baptist Church, Coward. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. She died on Wednesday, December 22, 2004, in a local hospital after an illness.
She was born on February 22, 1923 in Florence County to Willie and Mary Bishop Coletrain.
Mrs. Matthews was educated in the public schools of Florence County.
She was a member of Bright Light Chapter #188, Order of Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Matthews, Sr, and four siblings, Dorothy Mae Monroe, Ella Mae Witherspoon, Robert Coletrain and Willie Coletrain, Jr.
Survivors are: four sons, Carl (Concheeta) Matthews, Charles Stanley (Marie) Matthews, Huston (Angela) Matthews and Terry (Sheryldine) Matthews; ten grandchildren, Stancy (Lucretia) Matthews, Cathy (Craig) Beshures, Tarzamisha Hughee, Sabrina (Brantley) McClam, Heather Matthews, Jaleesa Matthews, Lashonda Matthews, Ashley Matthews, Amber St. Louis and Maria Matthews; eight great grandchildren, Tyneisha, Kierra, Tamisha, Alexis, Isaac, Zanasia, Destinee and Anthony; two sisters, Mary (Levern) Hall and Frances Wearing; five sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Family is receiving friends on Dove Lane, Coward.
Eastern Star rites will be held at 5:00 p.m. this evening in the Chapel of Ideal Funeral Parlor.

There will never be another Aunt Sarah. When we visited SC Tassie and I always had to go see the sisters. She is going to be truly missed, but we thank God for the time she spent here with us, and we rest assured that she is at rest.
