Sarah Anne Wirtz died on June 17, 2024, at home in Columbus, Ohio.

Born in Youngstown, Ohio, to Joanne (Wirtz) Boylan and John Frank, Sarah was a firecracker from the start, learning to walk at only nine months old - an independent person who charted her own path from then on.

Raised by a single mother for the first few years of her life, Sarah soon became the best big sister in the world to Amanda, Theresa, and Christopher King. She wrote her siblings letters, made them gifts, taught them songs and dance routines, and always wanted them to be included in her friendships and adventures.

Sarah graduated from Hilliard Davidson High School and attended Columbus State Community College and Franklin University. Always endeavoring to help people, she studied psychology and worked as a medical assistant and secretary for OhioHealth. She was always known to befriend people from all walks of life, helping everyone in her life get the care they needed and keep them grounded during times of stress. She was very gifted in this way.

She was also known for her dry, quick wit that would make her family and friends laugh the hardest they ever had.

Sarah's best friend was her mother, Joanne Boylan, and they were fortunate to spend many hours laughing, crying, and being ridiculous together.

Sarah was preceded in death by her father, John Frank, whom she cherished.

In addition to her mother, Sarah leaves behind her loving stepfather, Steve Boylan; her siblings who wouldn't be where they are without her, Amanda (Daniel), Theresa (Cesar), and Christopher King; her stepbrother, Kyle Boylan (Samantha); a large extended family full of love for her; and many loving friends.

Sarah was wonderful with children and also leaves behind the nieces and nephews that were her world: Delayna, Avery, Rylee, Maggy, Frankie, Romy, and Fernando. She loved them fiercely.

The family will hold a private burial and a Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date. Sarah longed for social change and a better world for the vulnerable. In lieu of flowers, loved ones may donate to Kaleidoscope Youth Center in Columbus.

I simply do not have the correct words to express the impact Sarah had on my life and my childrens' lives. Nor do I have the words to articulate this loss. I feel so lucky to have the memories I do, and will always mourn the memories that will never be. The world is certainly darker with the loss of my friend Sarah. She always brought light with her wherever she went. Her humor and beautiful laugh will follow me always. I have her to thank for helping me through my many dark times from childhood through to adulthood. Knowing she brought brightness to so many others as well, warms my heart. I'm so grateful my 3 children knew and loved her and she loved them back. I wish there was more time. Her loss is felt by so many, and this loss is not small. We will all miss you friend.

I had the pleasure of working with Sarah at OPG Orthopedics. She was one of a kind and her laughter and stories were some of the best. It is so weird to talk about her in the past tense, almost like she is still coming back to work. She was such a light at work and with her gone, that light is gone too. She will be missed by so many of us here and would give anything for another story or laugh with her. RIP dear Sarah!! Save me a seat girl!!

My deepest condolences to her closest friends and family.

I worked with Sarah at Grant since 2017. Her laugh was infectious and she was always smiling. Her sense of humor and big heart was refreshing. There are no words to express how deeply sorry I am for your loss. She will never be forgotten. RIP Sarah.
My deepest condolences.

Seeing this broke my heart. Sarah, and I along with a few others were roommates near OSU campus. What I remember most is the laughs and quick witted remarks we shared. We were also servers at different restaurants and hustled to make rent. We would wake up talking about how we need at least x-number of double shifts. Then we come home laugh off the hard day and terrorize our other roommates (in a fun way). She was so fun to be around. I´m grateful to have had the pleasure to know you :)

Sarah LOVED my little girl when she was just a year old! My now 11 year old and I hung out with her often in Callie´s early years. What I remember most is her LOVE for children and her strong, independent attitude! She was most certainly a gem that we will forever miss! Prayers for her family and closest friends!

Sarah being my mom´s best friend since highschool, growing up, memories with her are included in a lot of my first memories from when I was younger. She went with me and my mom on my big 13th birthday, she was always around, she would spend the night at our house at the time and we would all stay up late, I took shots of apple juice while her and my mom took shots, it was always so much fun when my aunt Sarah was over. She was always so light hearted and fun to be around. I remember talking about how I couldn´t pronounce her name right, I called her my aunt syrup, I truly thought she was my actual blood related aunt for a long time, my mom had to tell me they weren´t related, they were so close. And I adored her growing up, I always loved when my aunt Sarah was gonna be coming over, I love her so so much, she is family to me.

The first time that I met Sarah, she was a toddler with her wonderful mother Joanne. Time does some interesting things but please know that you are all loved and we all mourn with you. Tim
