Sargis Jacob Serges, touched many lives with his humor, warmth and artistic genius. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather - generously sharing his wisdom, knowledge and love. He is survived by his wife, Anne; his children, Kathleen Cooper (William) Reishtein, Annette (Dennis) Byrne and Timothy Jacob (Jolanta) Serges; and his grandchildren, Brian Cooper, David Cooper, Corey Reishtein, Jacob Byrne and Thomas Sargis Serges. Through Serges Decorating Service, founded by his father, Jacob, Sargis' memory endures in the gifts of his craftsmanship that he gave his family, friends and clients. He grew up in the Lincoln Park area of Chicago, he attended Lane Technical High School and Wright Jr. College. He served his country honorably in WWII as an Army Communications Specialist behind enemy lines. A Master backgammon player, he spent most of his adult years in Arlington Heights, IL. Sargis' memory is cherished by his family and friends, especially for his wonderful gift of storytelling that filled so many occasions with laughter and joy. Visitation Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Hollerbach Funeral Home, 4022-36 N. Elston Ave. at Irving Park. Funeral Service Wednesday 11 a.m. at Mar Sargis Holy Apostolic Catholic Church of the East, 1850 W. Cuyler, Chicago. Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
