I realize how many years have gone by since Sarita's passing, but I just found out and I have to say how sad I am that she is gone. We were good friends many years ago in the late sixties and seventies and then life sent us both off on different paths in different parts of the country, and we lost touch, but I was always grateful for the memories we had. So I thought I would try to look her up and reconnect with her. I can't believe she is gone and at such a young age. My memories of her were of a young woman so full of life who would live forever. We were in the same art class at John Burroughs Junior High in L.A. We became good friends from the start. She was beautiful, smart, quick witted, talented, and so much fun to be around. We used to walk home from school together and on our way home we used to go into the Art Center College of Design on 3rd Street. We were eating our yogurt in a cup and admiring all the beautiful student art hanging on the walls, just wishing we could be that talented. She had a spirit of adventure and we did a lot of fun things together. She had a great laugh. We weren't social butterflies, we just hung out together. I just want to say thank you Sarita for all the good times we had together. I do take comfort in knowing that someday we will meet again in the place where you live now.....So I'll see you later my dear friend and may peace be your journey.

Although we spoke only a few times, Sarita had an on-going presence in the Ojeda family she had married into. My husband Jed shared many funny stories of his time with Sarita, and how she encouraged him to develop his musical talent. Once, by passing on a guitar to Jed that was originally given to Lance, but went unused. Thank you for that Sarita! I'd also like to thank her for blessing the world with her beautiful children; Loren has been a special part of our lives and you can see Sarita in that beautiful face of his son, Julian. My condolences to her immediate and extended family. Wishing you new horizons Sarita.

In the beginning, Sarita was my friend, both of us graduating high school in the class of 1974. She then became family when she married my brother, Lance... to this day, she will always remain family. Her influence on me and my family go without measure. Everything from music, art, literature, style...you name it, she was there. I have a fond memory of going to rock concerts with her, when some how or other, we would end up backstage with the artists. What charm !!! You could throw her into a room full of strangers, and, after a few minutes, have them all eating from her hand. She was a beacon of light for so many people who were lucky enough to have known her. She will truly be missed... To Loren, Noah, Stasia, Celina, and the rest of her extended family, we send you our sincerest condolences and all our love...Godspeed Sarita.

Recollection

The flowers we sent are a small token of my memory of Sarita who could brighten any room not only with her sparkling personality but also by her ability to create fabulous floral bouquets from flowers she would pick on an afternoon stroll around the neighbourhood.

She was always my dear little niece. I loved her all her life and I always will. She is always in my thoughts. I'm so glad she phoned me as often as she did and usually had a cute little joke to tell me. Here's one: she said, "I was born at 2:30 in the morning, you know, tooth hurty, time to go to the dentist". I wish I could remember more of them. She also gave me so much excellent medical advice. She was interested in so many things. She's the one that got us started on McCoy pottery and all those beautiful collectibles. I've still got some of that stuff, it's very hard to let go of. She had very good taste in clothes and dressed very cleverly. She'd just stick a pink rose at her waist or throw on a fabulous scarf. She was artistic. I'm very sad she's gone. I miss you MeepMeep.

It is with great sadness to hear about Sarita's passing. Though I have not seen her in a long while, I remember the day she was born. She was Mor-Mor's first grand-child and how proud and excited we all were. She was a little doll, and she grew up to be a beautiful woman. I will keep her in my heart always. Jesse, Celina, Loren, Noah and Anastasia, I feel your sadness and your loss.
God bless you all.
