Scott Blaine Austin

My thoughts go out to Scott's family. He will be missed by his DEP friends and co-workers. He was such a strong and clear voice, helpful and caring. May he rest in peace.

I've known Scott since he started at the DEP. My fondest memory of him was when he and Matt took my son and me to Fenway Park. He got a parking ticket for parking where we wouldn't have so far to walk. He was not only a super co-worker, he was my friend and a wonderful human being. The world is a better place for his having been here.

For everything there is a season. Scott will be remembered for his quiet love of the people and nature he loved most.

Dear Joyce and family,

I got to know Scott through MSEA and very much valued his wisdom,kindness, and gentility. He also stood out in his commitment to the union and all it stands for. I am so sorry for your loss. I and all who knew him will miss him.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I know that every time you visit Monhegan he will be with you sharing the love you had for the place.

RIP Scott. So sad that you didn't get to enjoy your retirement years after giving so much of your life working as a public servant to the people of Maine. I for one appreciated your wisdom helping out in our Union and giving what you had to the Democratic process. May your family have piece of mind that you were a great man and people looked up to you. Thank you brother for all you did.

Scott was a highly respected and valued professional colleague. As a Union Steward his work was compassionate, kind and trustworthy. He will be sorely missed.

I never got to meet Scott, but he must have been really special because he married my sister. My love to her and the rest of his family.

Shakespeare was talking about Scott the other day when he said that Scott's life was gentle; and the elements so mixed in him, that Nature might stand up and say to all the world, THIS WAS A MAN!
